Are they still alive?
Billy Joel played the Rose Bowl (Hamshire's cricket ground, not the other one) a couple of years ago but that was the day after the last Bon Jovi concert, The Who have played the Rose Bowl too, we do get smaller gigs at the Guildhall but none of the BIG stadium gigs that I usued to go to in London, which I do miss, I know Stuart would love to see Bruce Springsteen but I doubt he'll come this far

To be honest, I don't know if any of the "Bobby's" are still around. I expect Billy Joel would produce quite a good show. Much of his music is really good.

I think I have seen snippets on entertainment programs, and he is quite a show person. Involves the audience as well.

Status Quo are one of the best bands for entertainment purposes

Even with the help of Google, ... I can't say that I've heard of them.

I suppose they're not well known outside the UK but have a look at this http://www.statusquo.co.uk/

One group that I quite like, and probably has not been heard of outside of Canada, is "The Great Big Sea" ... Google for them, and catch a few snippets, they do some really good stuff, but just never pushed for the 'international' acclaim.

I'll do that
The best thing about Status Quo is it's good old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll, this made a video for one of their singles abord HMS Ark Royal and performed a concert for the crew, not many groups would do that

Madonna did a video on-board ... It seemed to evoke other images though, that massive gun, yadda-yadda ... Not everyone can do that

I thought that was Cher
Here's the video I was talking about http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EQoG5d9Yc2A

Whoops, you are right. It was very early, and my foggy mind mixed up perceived tramps of the day.
I can honestly say that I have not seen that vid-clip before, but they are good. I like the sound and feel they produce ... I might check Amazon for a disc over here.

The Greatest Hits album would be the best, I went to see them on their 25th Anniversary tour

Oh, thank you for reminding me ... I've had my head in other places a lot of the day, and forgot to look.

Not a problem, they're a great band to listen to if you're driving, I've got their greatest hits, will our CD's play on your systems?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 12, 2008
Yes, CD's are universal now, and have been for a lot of years. DVD's, on the other hand, do vary by 'region'.
I looked at Amazon, and there are a load of discs to be found. Almost all of them 'not in stock, will ship when available'.

That would be nice, thank you. I'm a bit shy at picking any of their 6 or 7 albums from Amazon, to perhaps find that I don't much care for them. I don't have money to burn, so to speak.

Ok, give me a couple of days and I'll do their greatest hits album

Thank you, I got your notes, but my mails are still a bit shakey. My provider has gone into some sort of partnership with MSN, and since then the mail servers find themselves over-loaded I guess.
