I hit on a new way of handling invasions which I think you'll like a lot

That's hilarious! I'm surprised you didn't pat them on the heads as they left and give them some left-overs wrapped up in foil.
Guess I had better unsubscribe from that other thread now, eh?

I'm waiting for them to go and then post "you can come on out now lads - they fell for it hook line and sinker"

Gary, I may have a problem - I think my modem's fried at home. I had some real problems logging on last night after you went home. I fear the worst . I may be down to just posting at work if I can't get it fixed. I'm off home to see if it was just a glitch or whether I have a real problem.
Arrgghhhhh !

couldn't be bothered with Hey Buddy III
I have an idea how to move the Adventure forward.
I just handed an envelope to you in the Admin Offices - let's simplify things a bit. In the envelope is a Map of the Mines and the route to the Temple. Let's go straight there and cut out the Bridge/White Dog etc. How about we all go and get a change of scenery and revitalise the adventure a bit ?
If you remember we set up a memorial in the Temple garden at A2395389 - why don't we go straight there now ? We can always bring on Uncle Balrog later as an expendable villain if we need to.
I also vote for leaving Gord and IAN behind - we do need to simplify things quite a bit.

..... and it's exactly a year since I created Deep Thought the Receptionist - this was meant to be man
Actually just I nearly typed in Depp Thought ... that'd be a better looking computer if a little moody I suspect

Leave out Uncle Balrog???!!!!
But...but...I'll miss my classic line: "My cane!!!!"
Hmmmm. I agree, though, about simplification. Maybe we could use the map, which would have a big smudge in the middle, where we would act out the Balrog scene, then go straight to the memorial. In other words, once I open the map, I say that GL leaves and makes his way to "the smudge" and give a link to a new thread. The description at the top of the thread would include the chasm and bridge. Once we play out that scene, I give a link to the memorial. Should speed things up.
We could discover Gord and Ian missing somewhere along the way. Or wait....maybe we could fix up a nice death scene for the two of them! Yeah! They can go out with a bang (pun intended). I'll have to think about something appropriate (nothing comes to mind right now - any ideas?)

OK OK OK .... we'll do the cane scene just to please you
Choices about Gord and Ian ...
1. Just maroon Gord and Ian on the wrong side of the bridge
2. Have em plunge with Uncle B' when the bridge goes
3. Have em hang onto both my legs when RD goes over the edge with Uncle B'
4. Have Uncle B' stomp on them until they're the smudge on the map
5. errrrr something else
... what ever happens you can do the final Gord-IAN (not) joke

Ooooo, I like the hanging on to legs idea. They could each grab one leg as you're going over. You can dangle, B's whip can break and all 3 can heave a sigh of relief. Then the piece of bridge they are clinging to can fall into the chasm, carrying all 3. We should get online at the same time to coordinate it between the, er, 5 characters involved.

I couldn't help myself. I just had to start a tug-of-war with the cane. But don't worry - you have to win in the end.

Here's a thought - why don't we add lots of offices to the Dark Chocolate Tower A2296325 along the lines of "Office - Surface To Underground Missile corp Pan-European Division" etc. That way we could do it all in one hit and have fun running from STUMPED office to STUMPED office when we get there.

Nice idea! You could add a thread to that page titled "S.T.U.M.P.E.D. Offices" and in the first post could describe a long hallway, lined with doors, the first of which says: Sub-Terrainian Underground Mine Production, Engineering and Design. We could fling open the door and find it deserted and then go on to the next door which would have a different meaning for the acronym. Maybe the others will join in and make up a few themselves.
