Got a busy day tomorrow
Menthol Penguin - Currently revising/editing my book Started conversation Apr 6, 2010
Need a haircut, also need to buy easter presents. Let me explain, since September I haven't written down a date and haven't really known what date it was (and occasionally which days a well). So I didn't know that last Sunday was Easter until I was told when it was too late for me to do anything about it. Nevermind I thought, I'll go on Monday, oh yes *that* bank holiday Monday, Tuesday then, nope that's my a birthday* (which I also didn't think was quite so soon). So I know have to go and get easter presents tomorrow. I also need a card-reader for my computer.
Useless, yep that's me!
*not mine.

I'm the same: in the school holidays I lose all track of time. Not just dates, my body clock seems to be offset to the actual day by a few hours so I'm really active late at night/early in the morning and hopeless at midday.

Menthol Penguin - Currently revising/editing my book Posted Apr 6, 2010
With the holidays I find that I can go to bed later and wake up about 7 o'clock. What's annoying is that I do this without an alarm clock but when it's a school day I go to bed earlier and wake up later even with an alarm clock, two alarm clocks in fact! Not fair!
I loose track of time more if I'm tired, like I was the last week of school. I'm glad it's the holidays, even if it is full of revision!*
<>I'm hopeless the rest of the time as well!
*Nearly halfway through one of my books!

Oh! HAAPPY BIIRTHD!OH!
Getcha-self-a-sundial
Yea have been known to have the same problem with days etc... you need a calendar with your favourite sprotrs car on it (last month was -land rover; this month: Porche 911 )

HonestIago Posted Apr 6, 2010
If you need a calender, might I suggest Dieux De Stade? You will always know that date with that calender.
The drawback is you might not get anything else done and picking your jaw off the flaw is a pain.

Now now, HI, tell me you didn't realise that mention of THAT calendar would bring me crawling out of the woodwork
MP, you're a modern young chappie - surely you have 42 gadgets which can tell you the date or on which you can set an alarm?
Failing that - surely the fact that it's sort of spring and you don't have school at the mo alerted you to the fact that it's Chocolate Bunny time?
But... I used to work in a library (in the old "stamp out the books and no computers" days). I could always tell you the date in 2 weeks, but never today's date. My family just got used to it.

Calendar noted! I might actually have a calendar for this year, but * I'm not sure where it is.
42 gadgets, I wish. I do have a sonar clock widget on my computer but it's not hugely useful, more of a toy really.
Sort of spring and no school did give me some indication but I thought it was another week or so away! And with easter eggs being in the shops since Christmas I'd kinda assumed it was ages away and it was supermarkets trying to make loads more cash.
* you knew this was coming!

OK, you have a point with the eggs being in the shops.
As for the French Rugby players and the calendar... I'm not sure they still do them. But there is a coffee table book not far from where I'm sitting (present from the girls at the office )
But for gadgets - you're ruining my perception of the yoof of today. Especially in view of the fact that my two non-geeky Gruesomes have more gadgets than you can shake a stick at and still *need* more.

Yes Sho, I knew it'd bring you running in. Somethings never change
>>As for the French Rugby players and the calendar... I'm not sure they still do them.<<
If not, the Aussies have gotten in on the act doing a similar calendar with pictures of Aussie rugby and Aussie football players. It is similarly worthy.

I do have a fair few gadgets/cool things, it's just that most don't tell the time.
USB-rechargeable batterys http://www.usbcell.com/product/1
Broken card reader (hopefully replaced today)
2 mobile phones
projector alarm clock
spirit-level key ring
bottle-opener key ring (might have lost that though)
Pen with light on
I'm sure I could find some more

OK, Penguin-boy, you have some nifty gadgets there. My faith in yoof is restored
Disappointed in you, HI, as a member of the thread you could have shared that before

Didn't manage to get my hair cut today because the hairdressers isn't open on a Wednesday! Trust me to forget that.
And I was asked for ID when buying a magazine*. It was a film magazine and had an Iron-Man2 3d mouse-mat on it and my sister loves iron man (well RDJ really) so I took it to the checkout. Apparently you need ID for it. No idea why, they did let me have it in the end though.
But buying keg-shandy is no problem though.
And I finally have a pencil-case**, I normally stick pens in my pocket and then fight to get them out. One of my friends said I should just get a pencil case to which I pointed out that was the sensible thing to do, hence why I hadn't done it, until now. It'll mainly be used for exams though.
*Not *that* kind of magazine.
** Gripping I know

Happy birthday to whoever it is appropiate for.
I also lose track of the day, but since i know how long is left of the holidays (depressingly little) it doesnt matter too much.
Now you have to pay more tax on that shandy, but not if you make it to June.
Oh wait, one second.
I AM NOT A CANDIDATE
Shandy/cider tax is an issue not a personality - despite most believing that personalities are issues
I am not campaigning, despite some serious temptations for the Monster raving loony party
I am not sloaganeering, whatever that is
I have to get my hair cut as well, and since my normal hairdresser has just had her baby, I have to hunt around

Ooh, that reminds me, I need to get my hair cut too!
We could all go together? Rent a minibus or something?
Re: Dieux du Stade. I've got a pdf version of the 2010 one, that a colleague sent me a few months back. I can email it to whoever's interested.

What has my journal turned into! Nevermind, carry on!
Minibus sounds like a good idea, maybe we could get a discount if we all went to the same hairdressers! Anyone else coming?

Menthol Penguin - Currently revising/editing my book Posted Apr 7, 2010
I don't mind.
I should probably get a h2g2 specific email. In fact I'm going to do that now, it's much more interesting than spell-checking the enormous mind-map I finished last night!
