Hi Jodan,
Thanks for taking the time to make me feel welcome. I used to be a member a few years ago but there was a big change to the site and I didn't bother to update my details. Anyway what I'm trying to get at is that I'm quite used to the site and what it's all about, but there is one thing that bothers me.
I was on the site for a while last night and I just wanted to chat to some people about anything and everything (and life and the universe I suppose) but I searched and searched and couldnt find a current conversation that was just a normal discussion. I found loads of interesting conversations which were between 2 and 4 years old and the people hadn't posted since then. I also found some current conversations but one was a jedi training session and the other was a childish competition to see who could have the last posting!!??!!
It's not a complaint because I'm happy that theres the possibility for such a wide range of bizarre happenings and I'm glad that I can still read interesting conversations no matter how old they are. I just want a bit of advice about how to get the most from the site though. Do you have to wait hours or days for a reply in most discussions or am I just unlucky? If I just want to chat to someone online now how can I find out where they are chatting and what it's about?
Thanks for your time,
Chiefaberach

Well, it's safe to say not all conversations are very intelligent
What do you mean when you say 'a normal conversation'? A conversation with a person or a conversation about something serious?
If it's the former, just stop at someone's personal space and give them a word or two
If it's the latter, I have a few suggestions. The Forum at A1146917 is known to be a good place for discussions about important things. And you might also try The Circle at A2253331.
Good luck.

Hi Jodan
I didn't actually write 'normal conversation' cos I don't like to classify anything as being normal or abnormal but I see why asked the question. I was really looking for a conversation which is both interesting and instantaneous (I think that's the right word). I'll try your suggestions and I'll just keep trying to find something current in this sea of information.
Thanks

Normal conversations

Sorry I did write normal conversation- that surprised me. I must have meant one that went back and forth instantly and wasn't a role playing fantasy thing. I feel like a bit of an arse now!
Nevermind!
Normal conversations

No problem
As for conversations that go back and forth and aren't role playing, they're all over the site. <./>AskH2G2</.> Is the biggest conversation forum, and you might find something you'd like there. And a lot you wouldn't like.
