Sorry to hear that - the bridge I mean - at least Snap! doesn't require the brain...
My chest's still bad - v. tight after only a few mins of chasing those naughty cats round the patio.

>>Tut tut no you haven't! Just think how many people may have visited your website looking for next season's concerts...are you feeling suitably guilty now?<<
No I'm not. If I spent less time here then I'd probably get the web site updated, and the allotment dug, and the tomatoes planted out and...... But I think I've got my priorities right.

And I'm sorry to hear that. I suffered from colds going onto my chest and turning into brochitis when I was young but fortunately it doesn't seem to happen now.
I think I might've been up to Snap this evening!
Andy - well actually I was but I seem to be coming back to life now - must be yr influence!

You don't need much brain to reply to my light-weight posts!
I'm usually a very strong healthy person - it's the teaching I think - teachers always collapse during the holidays. I'm so relieved I hadn't booked tickets to go anywhere. The kids are getting along so well together, entertainig themselves and they've completely cleared and tidied three whole rooms - totally their own initiative! My pathetic croakiness seems to have inspired them!

Is this deliberate self-deprecation to encourage me to leap in and gallantly declare that all of your posts are profound and incredibly witty? Well I shalln't!

No,no,no! I don't do deliberate self-deprecation - if I say my posts are light-weight I really mean it! That's what this thread is all about isn't it? Fun and frivolity - cunningly disguised with algebra.

I look more like the cuddly echidna than I do like VM! Also I speak the most perfect received pronunciation you could imagine so that puts paid to your suggestions that I'm just a cheeky cockney.

Hmmm...am I supposed to believe any of that? So you possibly do have hair and it's spiky? But you're the one who (sort of) called yourself a cockney - I'd have just assumed you're a brummy.

Couldn't be better company!!!
So the man who completely restructured our entire view of the universe also knew how to be very silly - fantastic.

I have an Estuary accent (ie north of the river - Romford in fact) - I don't like speaking like I do but on the other hand, to change the way I speak would be even worse so I stick with it. I certainly couldn't adopt a Brummie accent. As I said before I've got lots of accent stories and I'll get round to telling them to you some time.

>>Hadn't you seen that photo before?<<
I had seen it - don't know where.
To change the subject, assuming you feel a bit better what have you got planned? Still another week off school eh? Chris is also off for 2 weeks - they've gone to France - but I think he had to take the second week off, the schools here only have 1 week off.
Re mobiles: I got mine from Tesco - payg (pay as you go - sorry!). I've been looking at sending emails from my phone today but have never tried it before - might give it a go when I'm next at the cricket so if you get an unexpected email it might be from my mobile.

If you're not happy with your accent then which would you prefer if you could wave a magic wand? When I was at school I never had the strong South London drawl that some girls did (though it must have been a bit noticeable as my Welsh uncle used to imitate me) but one of my friends who had a far more marked accent than mine went up to Leeds Uni and within months her accent had changed dramatically! She's now living in Derbyshire and there's hardly a trace of a S. London accent. It's taken me the best part of 20 years for mine to really change but even so it's slight, just softened. I've decided to be content with however it sounds! Plenty of other things to worry about...

Eldest goes back to High Sch next week - just me and the littlies have the second week. Nothing planned - assuming I'm better not worse I'll take them out and about - and of course I have work to do... I have a heap of filing of children's topic work to do as I've had no TA for the past few weeks... I'll use child slave-labour I think - actually it's a good way for them to earn pocket money! Little R does it for the fun of it. Looked at "my" mobile today (well, it's a start!) but flat bat so a child said he'd find the charger...more trouble than it's worth! (The phone not the child)
Most of my emails are unexpected - since you've now told me to expect an unexpected one doesn't that now make it an expected one?
MJ
