Foul Friday
Posted Jun 11, 2004
Not only did I wake up with what felt like knives in my back and hardly able to move, The Boss also woke up with pain. We started the day sitting up in bed drinking tea and popping pills(all prescription of course).
We spent all day just poking about I did manage to totter down the garden to smell the roses but that was about it as far as walking was concerned. I cooked the meal at lunch time and The Boss did our evening meal.
I spent the afternoon making notes for my first assignment for the O.U.
It was a bit daunting when I first looked at it so I rang The One with the M.E. husband who has a B.A. through the O.U. and she helped me to get started.
The Sons Wife came in lunchtime and that cheered us up, she is such a laugh we soon forgot our ills.
We have made plans for tomorrow and hope to be well enough to see them through, the good weather is supposed to last a few more days yet so missing out on today is not so bad.

Y.G.S.Birthday
Posted Jun 10, 2004
A busy day for us, we went to the school sports E.G.S. andY.G.D. were both in them neither did very well but they enjoyed themselves. The weather was good so it was a couple of hours relaxing in a beautiful field next to the school. We brought the children home and stayed for Y.G.S. birthday party. It was burgers and and stuff to eat and just forgot the diet and enjoyedmyself. i took some pictures but the camera is out of focus. I guess I need to learn more about using it.
I have managed to get everything back onto the computer after closing it all down and restoring it. Now all the rubbish is gone and it boots up much quicker.
My back is bad today and I have had to increase the pain killers I suppose I must expect this to happen now and then, after all I am lucky to be walking as well as I do.
I was hoping to go to the Royal Cornwall show tomorrow but this back has put a stop to that
I met a friend of The Sons' at the party who is a whiz kid on computers and has offered to help mewith any problems I may have with it. Which was very good of him.

This ahs been a funny old day. Went to Pz to see the crowd and had lunch there. The Lad from The Skip was quite poorly but the others were O.K.
Came home to find my open University study pack had arrived. Tons of stuff I don't have to start till next week but I shall do a bit before then.
My coputer went down this afternoom. And I have spent a frustrating time trying to get stuff back on, but thankfuly got this back and google quite quickly. I now have to find ny virus defence and I am not sure where that is.
The boss has not been well today. We went and bought gravel for the garden but as the weather has turned really nasty it is still inthe boot of the car

We went to the church yard this morning and did the flowers for The Lost Boy. The Boss finds it very difficult to go there, I feel bad if I don't, but it is very peaceful there and very beautiful, I think we both felt calm when we came away.
The Blonde moved in properly today and we dropped a card in wishing her well in her new home, I think she will be a good neighbour.
We had to pick up the Y.D.G. from school and stay at her house until The Sons Wife came home because her music teacher was coming in. She has a full sized drum kit and we sat through nearly an hour of her and her teacher banging around. For a nine year old she is quite good but our ears were sore by the time T.S.W. came home with the rest of the children.
It has been a bit cloudy today but cleared this morning enough for us to see the Venus traverse of the sun. That was a lot of fuss about nothing much!
The forecast said we were going to have a thunderstorm today but nothing yet.

We took the Y.G.S. to the hospital this morning and the doctor told him he was doing very well and said he didn't need the crutches any more. When we got outside the hospital the Y.G.S. looked a bit sad, when I asked him what was wrong he said he wanted to keep his crutches in case he broke his leg again
We dropped him off at school and when we came home I mowed the lawn and cut back the hedge.
After lunch I went to the writers club, once again I was the only bloke there. They assured me there were other male members, we'll see.
We all read some of our work. the others read poetry and I read one of my short stories which they seemed to like. we had a great conversation about books we had read and liked and they were surprised when I told them I was reading Douglas Adams' biography because I wanted to know about him before I read The Book. The surprise was the fact that I have never read H2G2, they thought everyone in the world had read it.
I had to water the garden again tonight I think it may have been cheaper to stay on the rates and not bothered with the water meter.
The Boss has had pain again today. Not Good.
It is such wonderful weather, the hottest day so far this year.
