That's where I want them though, a mid season highlight but not the climax, the story would be too yada yada... And of course, the new doc has to meet Cpt. Jack...... I cant wait for that one!

Yes, he will. Do you reckon he will come to terms with the fact that he's different now. Wonder what Jack'll say about the lack of Rose.
Aw, you're not really him?
Lonnwy Posted Feb 18, 2007
I don't think Jack will mind the lack of Rose, after all we already know that Jack liked the Doctor, and was jealous of Rose because she was so close to him, so he may try and take the opportunity to try and get a little more friendly!

Br Robyn Hoode - Navo - complete with theme tune Posted Feb 19, 2007
He might not fancy him... We'll get to find out how shallow or not jack is... He might even hate the new doctor for taking th old doctor away... like a kid upset at mum's new boyfriend.. semi irrational... Cos we know he loves him in some way...
Aw, you're not really him?
Lonnwy Posted Feb 19, 2007
You never know, they might click now because Jack can't die, and in a way neither can the Doctor, so there's a connection there....

I'm still not convinced on how jealous jack was of Rose, perhaps some envy but I dont think he dislilked her... I wonder how he'll react to Martha... And of course until we've seen them together we cant tell how their chemistry will be... Ooh, I cant wait!!!! Plus, heroes on terrestrial in June! (not that I havent already seen most of them already but you kow...) I dont think I can cope!
Aw, you're not really him?
Lonnwy Posted Feb 20, 2007
Martha?!?! Please don't tell me I've missed something serious here?!?! Like the start of a new series! I'll be mortified!
I don't think Jack was really seriously jealous of Rose, just a little bit, but he did like her too, he proved that!

I agree. Until I read this conversation I had no idea that there was tension between Jack and Rose! Either i'm not very perceptive, or you lot are making it up! Anyway, Rose brought Jack back to life so that he couldn't die, so she couldn't have disliked him that much.
Aw, you're not really him?
Lonnwy Posted Feb 20, 2007
I thought it was Gwen that brought Jack back to life in Torchwood...or am I forgetting summat here in Dr. Who?!
Anyway, can't wait to see Captain Jack back on our screens, definitely worth staying in to watch!!

When the Daleks killed Jack in the first new series of Doctor Who? On the Game Station?
Anyway, definitely worth the TV licensing fees for his reunion with the Doc.

Br Robyn Hoode - Navo - complete with theme tune Posted Feb 21, 2007
Gwen didnt bring him back to life... The scene you were thinking of I think was just to increase the tension (Can Jack really die after all???) I believe the length of time was just in proprtion to the amount of life force taken out of him fighting the giant monstery thing... Of course we dont know now if it's affected him more than we have been led to believe...
As far as I can recall we only knew for sure at the start of TW when he's shot in the head that he cant die, but it was Rose who did the saving when she was all Tardis'ed up and couldnt bear him being dead.
No no, you havent missed the start of the new series... I just know about Martha cos of all the press and stuff around xmas... She's his new companion and while I didnt like the look of her at first, the little we did see of her in the teasers (or was it the end of the ep? I cant remember...) makes me think she could just pull it off So long as her and the doc dont fall in love... That's been done and should now be sacred in Dr Who mythology for ever more. Amen.

Amen.
Though we do know that Jack fancied the Doctor in the first series, though. Do you reckon they'll make more Torchwood episodes, now that Jack's gone into the TARDIS?
Aw, you're not really him?
Br Robyn Hoode - Navo - complete with theme tune Posted Feb 22, 2007
Oh, I think he loves him as he was, I just dont know how bitter he is at being kept alive, static. We know from TW that it weighs on him...
And he didnt actually go into the tardis did he? at the end of TW I mean... They just heard the noise and saw the TARDIS materialising I thought...
I'm fairly sure there's a slightly unhealthy obsession going on with the Dr though... So it could be fine, could be a tad irrational.
Aw, you're not really him?
Lonnwy Posted Feb 22, 2007
That was the cool bit, we didn't actually see the Tardis and neither did the rest of the gang, we just heard the noise , Jack's face lit up, and then....... he was gone?!
So we're not sure where he's gone, but it's a pretty good bet!!
(I reckon any obsession with David Tennant has gotta be very healthy, gets the heart rate going, mine anyway!! )

Ooh no... I'm definitely more of a Captain Jack girl... Shame about the girl bit. Good god that man is gorgeous. And doesnt look his age at all! I must confess I rather melted when he kissed the real Cpt. Jack... While crying my eyes out cos it was so sad... Oh the emotions! How is a girl supposed to cope! It's just not fair when they mix so much chemistry with such sadness! It's the ultimate in tragedy and I bite, hook line and sinker!
*ahem*
Ok, I'm back under control...
I thought Jack was gone because he'd legged it off TO the that's not to say he's in it... Not to say he's not either though!

Omega Jones Posted Feb 26, 2007
Well, the TARDIS appeared, and Jack went missing... he's in the last three episodes of DW, although the details are a bit sketchy.
The second series of Torchwood has been delayed slightly, it'll be on around New Year 2008 and Jack will be in it (according to John Barrowman on Radio 2 anyway).

van-smeiter Posted Mar 5, 2007
The TARDIS didn't make the materialise *and* dematerialise noise at the end of TW so somet funny was goin on. My bro and I reckon that the Doctor materialised around Jack (like he did with Rose in The Parting of the Ways). I can't wait for Jack's reappearance and how he reacts to the new, new Doctor, loss of Rose, Martha &c. Roll on March 31st!
btw the Face of Boe said "We shall meet again, for the third and final time." Given what she-woman-cat-nun-thing said, should be v interesting.
Hiya hootoo Capt Jack

Apparently the "Saxon" theme is related to a politician by the name of Mr. Saxon, who may or may not be The Master.
SPOILER ALERT (scroll down if you dare)
Apparently he's to be played by John Simm, and the first half of the two-parter is called "The Sound of Drums".
Aw, you're not really him?
Br Robyn Hoode - Navo - complete with theme tune Posted Mar 5, 2007
Face of Boe also said that on that occasion he would tell him something important.
Oh it's all just too much! I cant wait! Can anyone tell me (I missed it) what Derek Jacobi is doing in DW next season? I heard a rumour he'll be another new Dr. but I suspect that's a pile of horse manure... Probably someone overheard he'll be IN DW and decided he'd BE DW... you know how these things go...
