The 411

The basics about me…

Name: Kelly
Sex: Female
Age: 26
Marital status: Single
Occupation: Coordinator for major film/television studio in Los Angeles, CA.

Living situation: I've been living in a guest house in my old neighborhood for a few months now. It's a lot different than I was expecting. If not for the serious discount in rent - I'm not sure how much I dig this. I miss having non-electrical appliances. It would be nice to live in a house again someday - but I think that's in the distant future. Maybe I'm just cranky over the fact that I have no heat during one of the coldest and most odd storm seasons ever in Southern California.

Schooling: I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999. I majored in Film Studies and minored in History. I think someday I would like to continue my education, but not until I am ready to take it as seriously as I need to. I went to what is known as a “party school” but that didn’t really appeal to me too much. I could party with the best of them, but more times than not I would just rather relax at home. I’ve been considering taking a few classes at the community colleges – but it will have to wait until the rest of my life settles a bit.

Hobbies: I spend lots of time with friends watching movies. We are movie geeks and couldn’t be more proud of that fact. With one set of friends, we’ve begun a bad movie club dedicated to the films that are so poorly crafted they should go down in history. I was introduced to this type of cinema from my father who has a love for the bad science fiction/horror films from the 50’s and 60’s. Although we have discovered many, many more that have been made since then – I recommend BIONIC NINJA – it’s fantastic! With another group of friends, we’ve created another club we call THE DAY OF HATE AND PAIN – where we will rent movies within a particular theme… bad movies that no one saw in the theater or on home video. They say that curiosity killed the cat – well we’ve been tasting that theory and so far there are no casualties. The last DAY OF HATE PAIN – titled WHEN POP STARS ATTACK – consisted of 3 movies – Glitter (starring Mariah Carey), Gigli (starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez), and From Justin To Kelly The Tale of 2 American Idols. Needless to say there was a lot of alcohol to help us through this. We’re creating a website where people can vote on which movies we should be subjected to – and as soon as it’s up I’ll put the url here.
I am also a big fan of music (with the exception of gansta rap – never really got into that). I listen to little bits of everything but primarily oldies from the 50s and 60s – you just can’t beat that original rock’n’roll.
I used to be really into swing dancing, but a back injury and lack of funds have kept me from it for quite a while. As soon as I can get back into it – I definitely will. Great exercise and great fun!

Disneyland!: This, for me, is the happiest place on earth. I try to spend as much time as humanly possible there – although I have been rather lax this year. I usually have the premium annual pass that gives me access to the park 365 days of the year (plus free parking!). I am a huge fan of this magical place and am always happy to talk about it.

As for anything else you may want to know – the easiest and most direct way to get your answers is just to ask.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
