Wizgal in Love
Believe it or not, Wizgal's first crush was on Gan, from Blake's 7. She was living in Alice Springs, Australia (http://www.alicesprings.nt.gov.au/" >http://www.alicesprings.nt.gov.au/) at the time. She had moved there from the United States due to changes in her father's employment. She was not a lover of TV, but for some reason, after seeing Star Wars when it came out, she fell in love with science fiction. And with her family's sarcastic sense of humor, Wizgal was bound to be in love with Gan. Followed by Avon. Followed by Blake.
These crushes led her to watch many sci-fi movies and read several sci-fi books later in life. While reaching for an Alice Adams book in the local public library one day, Wizgal accidentally pulled the book beside the one she intended to get (SUPERIOR WOMEN). She then found the book that her father told her about a long time before...and proceeded to get the ones that followed on a daily basis until she was full of enough information to help her through a sudden alien invasion/demolition team/encounter. She often refers to Douglas Adams when coaching her friends on serious problems. Pointing out that having the Earth explode and needing to stick fish in your ears to understand other languages, as well as space travel itself could be more serious than, for example, divorce.
After a few years, Wizgal and her family moved back to the United States (http://www.state.tx.us/" >http://www.state.tx.us/ ). The culture shock never wore off. Wizgal repeatedly searches for long lost friends from the Alice, still spells certain words differently than the Americans, and wants to know why she ended up where she is today. Not that she doesn't like where she's at, she just prefers to be where she is welcomed with open arms, tentacles, or what other appendage might greet her.
Wizgal is currently finishing her degree in English Literature and living life to the fullest.
