Hello!
I called myself 'childoftheseventies' as I was born in 1972, and I remember the seventies as a decade of long hot summers, groovy music (see, I really am a child of the seventies!) and fashion disasters!!
Mainly of the red-velvet or brown-with-yellow-stripe dress variety. The only thing I can say in my defence is that I was far too young to actually choose my own clothes at the time. (Mind you, even when I was old enough, in the eighties, I made some decidedly dodgy decisions - hands up, who remembers ra-ra skirts and legwarmers?! Eek!!) Not that my fashion sense has improved much with age..
My main memories are of vinyl records (particularly ELO, as my brother was a fan, so am I come to that), power cuts, Dukes of Hazzard (or was that the 8o's?) Starsky and Hutch, ABBA, Morecambe and Wise... Ah, those were the days..
I work three days a week in a bookshop in Loughton, and buy far too many books!!
