Are you talking about any 'particular' martial arts or martial arts in general?
Martial Arts
myk Posted Aug 5, 2007
Karate. Although i think they all overlap . Judo etc... ( not that i am an expert mind you ).
Why do you ask?

wheelholder Posted Aug 5, 2007
Are you a karate specialist? I used to do judo many years ago and can still remember how to do the break-falls.
How about tai chi?

Yea karate , done it while at school and and done some korean karate a little while back. I would like to do Judo one day .
Tai chi, yes i think it has a lot going for it , mesmerising , i learnt a form from a video someone taped me years back, and although i never really practiced it seriously , it was very enjoyable to learn the form.
Yes i think all martial arts are a positive form of self expression , they are all good , its not what you do its the way that you do it , right?

'mesmerising'
Better for relaxation, it is very good for old and young alike, unless of course you came across Bob and his crew, they do a different version

Hi , maybe mesmerising was the wrong word , but words sometimes are hard to describe feelings dont you think. Like dancing to a different tune , relaxing yes but i could not fall asleep while doing Tai Chi i think , energising i would say maybe , a bit like music that pulls you along and pushes you forward at the same time . Watching it is transfixing though i think and doing it has the same sort of gravitas , as a work in progress, not yet nearly stretching to its full potential , but being pulled along by some inward spiralling gravitation that never coils in on itself , enabling instant reaction and change.
You are right of course it is relaxing; and mesmerising too.

"unless of course you came across Bob and his crew, they do a different version"
What exactly do you mean by this, wheelholder?

A few years ago my ex was looking for a pair of tai chi trousers.
I rang up a mail-order company to order some and actually spoke to
Tai Chi Bob. He sounded like a reasonable person to me but there are
quite a few in the 'association' that beg to differ.
I don't know why.
It's only hearsay.
You'll have to ask them.
I get fed up with it.

Do you think the back stabbing and nail biting will change?

Let me introduce my fourth character to you Lofty.
Do you think I'm mad or do you think I'm writing a book?
Martial Arts
myk Posted Aug 7, 2007
(4th?)yes, you must be if your writing a book, are you going to tell us about it? ( are there any squirells in it?).

The 'wheel' is a 'wheel' it isn't a person.
It was a metaphor.
I can't believe how stupid some of the people on this website are. Sorry! No wonder people get mental health problems.
The story. It isn't here.

So your not actually holding a real wheel then? So what is it? And is it getting heavy? If so put it down for a while maybe ? You remember your Tai Chi ?
Hey you had a bad day my friend ( hope not )
No need to take it out on me though , lifes too short , dont loose the plot now .
