Welcome Back, Shea.
As you can see, nothing much changed in your absence..... and this conversation has managed to go from talk of your wonderful holiday to the prospect of me drinking/filtering the contents of Lake Erie in less than 20 posts. No big surprise - Situation Abnormal.

It's always comforting to know that I can always come back here for a dose of normalcy ...
And that shows how ridiculous my life is ...

Hi Shea!
Loved the account of your holiday - I love travellers tales. One question, though. What was the "green flash" you were talking about regarding a sunset?
Sounds intriguing < ice cream>

I wondered about that too, and completely forgot to ask.

Better yet ... A352513
The buzzard has landed? Is it that time of year already? I didn't know you lived in Hinkley.

No, I don't live in Hinkley, but some cousins of mine do.
I was merely enjoying the first sign of spring in northeast Ohio, Shea ... the buzzards returning to Hinkley.
You're right ... your green flash link is far better.
I'm doubly filled with now.

I just learned about the buzzards in Hinkley! There is a couple my folks know in Bequia who are from Hinkley. TJ had a giggle over it ...
TJ doesn't believe the green flash exists. Every night a group of people gather at the Frangipani on Bequia to see the sunset. It's an ideal spot. There are a certain amount that look for the green flash. He seems to think the alcohol imbibed before the sunset has something to do with it.

"Frangipani" ... don't know what it means, but it sounds really
Tell TJ that the green flash is *not* fictitious ... I've been reading about it in various astronomy and weather phenomenon books for years. They're a little difficult to view in our cloudy Ohio, so naturally, he'd think they didn't exist.

Actually he thinks they don't exist because *he* didn't see it!

He mentioned that. His idea of a lovely wall color is to use white paint, so what does he know?
I think the main thing that made him think people were making it up was that there was a group of about 10 people (including us) that walked a little further from the main group to get a clear view of the sun setting between the boats. There were a few people that excitedly exclaimed that they saw it before it happened (I think they just got their eyes saturated with the red color of the sun and saw a green glow around the sun as an after image ... or had too much to drink ). There was a local woman right next to me who shouted out at the same time I did. It was a real "pop" of color. He thought everyone *thought* they saw it because they wanted to. *sigh*

We still have half a roll of film. It's anybody's guess when it'll get finished. I figure the lates will be the end of April for my niece's First Communion. Hopefully sooner ... after all, the all-important Opening Day is April 11th!

"Opening Day" is a dirty word for me ... it's the deadline we have to meet each year for new stadium graphics. You can have it, Shea.
