Something I've just found out- UK stock car racing= old bangers roaring 'round a dirt track trying to smash into each other- last car moving wins.

US Stock car racing= normal cars going 'round a tarmac track, fastest wins.

I think the stock car thing is quite interesting, but then maybe that's because I'm a sadist. smiley - winkeye

Yep, tehre I was, watching Men and Motors, and the announcer says "next up, stock car racing". Oh goody, thinks I, lots of cars slamming into each other. But no, it's stock car racing from the US- perfectly normal road cars with souped up engines. smiley - cross Not a banger, or a bang, in sight, expect by accident, of course.

smiley - ale

I'm all up for the damage. I wonder if there are any other racing things that are weirdly different.

Is your stock car "racing" done on a track in the UK like Stock Car Racing in the US? If not, it sounds more like a US Demolition Derby - old klunkers slamming into each other - last one still running wins!
