Gwennie!
I think it's time to give the tearoom it's own place and I'll have a go at doing that, (as you think I can do stuff n'all - ha ha but I can't). I'll add a link back to the thread I started on your page, but it would make sense to keep it all in one place.
We could have a tearoom, card games, jam making, foot massage room, TV lounge etc. We also need to plan out our cruise, and then go on it! All suggestions welcome.
SO... what shall we call the entry? This has to be carefully thought out as it can't be changed. We need to get the old dears in without frightening any toyboys There are quite a few cafés around h2g2 already.
What do you think?

What a good idea!
How about "The Old Biddies Bahaving Badly Tea Rooms" or, if that's too long, "The Buttered Scone Tea Room"?
I'm certain there are better names though! What have you thought of?

"Old biddies behaving absolutely disgracefully" I'd say.
"One foot in the buttered scone"? "You won't believe it!"

Actually, IRL not far from me is a village called Loose which has the notorious "Loose Women's Institute"

I love this idea! I agree that it should be something different than a Cafe or a Pub. Maybe a retirement village? That way there are lots of options and positions for people to fill (Mayor, Doctor, Judge, Lawyer, Shopkeeper, etc.) Perhaps an acronym would work in order not to scare off potential boytoys. DOLBB, for instance. (Dirty Old Ladies Behaving Badly)!

Let's see what Coely thinks when she reads this posting...

How about DODALE?
The D.O.D. is for Dangerous Old Dears (or Dirty Old Dears if you'd prefer)
The whole thing sounds like a sweet little place anyone might visit.
email me more ideas, then we can keep the plans a secret until the village is "built".
We need a celeb to open it though. Any ideas?

*Gwennie assumes a vacant grin as imaginary enounters with her favourite objects of desire enter her tiny mind*
Well, there's Virgil, from Thunderbirds or Star Trek's Mr. Worf!! (I could bang heads with him all day!) *Sighs*
I suppose you mean someone famous in "real life" though! *Winks*
Errr....Anthony Hopkins - I LOVE his eyes and voice! *Goes weak at the knees*

Have I gone & spoiled things for your tea room? I'll step out if that's the case. (I do think you ladies have a good plan! A woman IRL
I know is planning a Village for women only-all dates MUST stay outside the gates, so everyone can stroll about in their nighties & rollers)
What about a name like: "Biddies on a Bindge"? Or the "Re-Bindge of the Biddies', 'We're Not Older-We're Better'. 'Beautiful Biddies Bustn' Loose', 'Wrinkeled Sex Kittens', 'Aged to Perfection'? I could go on all day! I am sorry if I've mucked things up!
(I was going to ask if anyone wanted to start a thread to talk about gardening, but thought I'd really be 'showing' my age and who would want to anyway?)

Spoiled things Pandora? Certainly not! You're under the table with a Chippendale, and we all get to watch Go for it girl!
It's just an idea to give us all a bit more room to expand that's all. Much more potential for us in a village, what with all the different places we could get up to mischief. Aren't we being dreadful to each other Plenty of room for a garden centre if you'd like one. If there are several locations we can drop by when we feel like it.
The original idea began when I found Gwennie sneakily having a chat to a VERY YOUNG MAAAN! Then Gwennie and I thought about an old dear's holiday, and she suggested I make a separate page for it. (The poor old biddie is under the delusion that because my homepage looks a bit fancy I know how to do 'stuff'. Ha!)
Also, atm the tearoom is in one of Gwennie's old threads (oh sorry dear, do I mean your cardi?), so it all needs a proper home.
However, if it becomes a women only village I'm just going to have to find ways to sneak young Babel-17 in. Sssh, don't tell anyone He's just in to service the boiler.

*Taps her hearing aid*
I heard that!
So, have we come to some sort of a decision yet?
Are we going with the retirement village for gentle ladies? Who's going to draw up the plans for the layout? Don't look at me, as I can't even read a map the right way up! *Vacant grin*

Thank you for making me feel wanted, I was afraid that I'd gotten carried away. *Pans eyes glaze over thinking about that YOUNG MAN carrying her away ...spins back to the moment* Oh I would NEVER suggest that WE not have gentlemen callers!!! It is the woman I know IRL (Mary-dosent' That figure?
) who is building a Village for ladies only. We could use some of her ideas though! All her parking spaces on one side are hanicapped only. Then there's a courtyard with
a swimming pool. Three stories of apts., then two stories, then only ground level all in an L shape. The lower floors have a section that is like a nursing home. Each apt. has at least two bed rooms & a laundry. All have patios or balconies...that over look a shared veggie garden & flower gardens all over the place, with lots of benches & shade & sun too!Heated dog & cat kennels on either end, so if you want to travel someone would always be there to care for the critters. And in the middle is a sort of meeting room. It'll be cozy as there will be a fireplace (gas), and sectioned off areas for various games or private chats...the walls can be moved back to open the area for parties. She has put alot of time and money in this project! There's alot more to it, but I'm sure you all get the idea. So, if you like any of the items you could include them in 'our' Village! We could call it some sort of 'Villa'! 'Ye olde Biddie Villa' etc.!

I love this! Is there lots of shopping for useless knick knacks? Pan, I just completed a Master Gardener's course in RL, and would love to talk gardening!

Gwennie Posted Jul 24, 2000
Sounds fantastic! Maybe Pan could design our village? What do you think ladies?
Mari-Rae PLEASE come and sort my garden out - it's a jungle out there!

I have THE original BLACK thumb! I have actually killed several AIR plants!!! I'm afraid there's no helping me...but as for the Village-
how does everyone feel about a steam room? An over sized hot tub?
Hidden spots in the gardens? Oh but I could go on with this idea! I wouldn't mind living in my friend's Village either!!!

A steam room sounds great. Can we have lots of steam though, as the sight of all that aged flesh might be all too much
