Ah I see where you're coming from now (tangoing across the floor from the right smiley - winkeye)

But is the piece any good? Do you like it? Could you live with it your home.

This weekend I'll probably be out tomorrow eve at a friends bonfire then meet up with some other friends for sunday lunch at a nice pub up on hampstead heath.
Yourself?

nah, i don't think i like it, i'm not big on cast iron stuff, its an interesting piece (for someone like me) but no i don't think i'd give it house room smiley - winkeye

i've got this blessed fancy dress party tomorrow night (a quiet one tonight, just me and the glue gun) after that ... well depends what happens smiley - winkeye

another horrible meeting to go to, so if i don't get a chance to - have a good one smiley - biggrin

Cast iron stuff. I wonder what will happen to the old treadle sewing machine of my mums. Not that we should worry for quite some time yet.

Ah the fancy dress party smiley - smiley Will you be having to sing a song. Do you know what others are going to go as - you'll have to tell me that one.

Have a good one yourself.

What a star studded weekend i had smiley - winkeye - i've met lulu, george michael, tony basil, sid vicious and susie soux (sp?) a couple of chers, someone who claimed to be any one of the bay city rollers not a child molester (she looked more like rod stewart) george harrison, brian wilson, two bob the builders, an alexander brother (pretty cool) two bob marley's (although one claimed he was always pete tosh) and another blooming vegas elvis - although my costume was way better than his! (for a textiles graduate and handbag shop owner, it was very boring indeed) smiley - smiley

it was a good laff - obvioulsy disproportionate to the effort spent - but then i'd only have been satisfied with actually playing vegas! for the first time ever, i felt like bridget jones, i was the only single person there - what is it with young married couples - they only attract other couples... irene really needs to get herself more single friends!

there were party games (pinning the penis on robbie williams and the womenly bits on kylie) bobbing for apples an at. good time.

what about you? how was your party? and did you do anything exciting for the rest of the weekend?

Sounds like everyone had fun and got into the spirit of things.
The party I went to on saturday eve was good fun. Lots of food on the bbq. Everyone did bring fireworks from great big huge ones to smaller pinswheels and several packets of sparklers were there.
A fun evening - even if I was asked several times when I'd next be going out paddling smiley - winkeye

Sunday afternoon was spent in a pub having lunch with some friends I'd not seen for a bit so that was good smiley - smiley

don't know about you, but posting today has gone a little pear-shaped for me smiley - sadface

sounds like you had fun, a nice chillin weekend to re-charge your batteries?

are you going to be honest in your times sheets? life's too short to be that anally retentive smiley - smiley

bonfire night - don't you just love it? isn't the fire pretty? the rain's stoating off the streets here, so there'll be damp firework's parties!

Dim probs as used to get said in Bangor.

It was a good weekend and I did feel a bit smiley - zen this morning - probably due to going to bed really early for a change this morning.

So far today it's been clear and sunny again. Does mean it's cold though so it's back to the wooly hat again.

i've got my wooley hat, gloves, scarf and big winter jacket on today and leaky shoes! smiley - sadface walking to work this morning, the strap on my doc marten shoes snapped; so i had a put on a pair of leaky shoes. its chucking it down here (i'm the strange fruit who likes the rain and the dark winter nights > Dim probs as used to get said in Bangor.

Leaky shoes smiley - sadface

And after doing the timesheet stuff (some of) I'm now reading up on the anual apraisal thing that goes on here and wondering (like lots of others no doubt) what particular relevance it has for me.

The Welsh word dim is used for no as in Dim Parcio (No Parking), Dim Ysmygu(sp?) (No Smaking) and dim probs (no problems smiley - winkeye)

ahhhh.... you've not been having any problems posting - you're not welsh are you? a friend taught me to say 'fair-do's' (a popular ned's phrase)in welsh but i'm not entirely sure he hadn't taught me to say 'your mother shags donkeys'

appraisals huh - performance related pay?, we've just been told about the new nationally agreed pay scheme being brought in in August 2002 -but they've still got to re-evaluate all our jobs in line with this new scheme - which will take years, so we'll still be on the old, s**tty pay scheme for years and years to come. working in education certainly is a vocation smiley - smiley

how long have you been working in london?

Never mind about the costume. The blue decon is good though smiley - laugh

It's a lot of money for a bit of furniture! My mums machine was made by Jones Company not singer. I had to read it twice before realising what you were on about. I thought my mum's not a singer smiley - silly

I'm not welsh I just went to uni there and know very little welsh.
