I had a quiet weekend not doing much. The weather was too bad to do anything outside. A friend was down for the weekend and we almost went to see Moulin Rouge. Perhaps it's a good job we didn't. Ended up just going for a few drinks instead.
I might well be coming up to Glasgow for the meet in November. Need to work out a few things (like, travel, accomodation and money).

That'd be great; a lovely way to start christmas
moulin rogue - if you're anything like me you'll spend most of the time trying to figure out the songs their singing ;-0
my friend's got this 'special edition' eels album; i think it was recorded at the albert hall, its apparently remixes of our favourite tracks, i don't know what its called but it sounds quite good.

I would probably be trying to figure out the singing I've heard some of the soundtrack at a friends and it is good.
I almost bought the Eels album at the weekend but then decided not to go into record shops as I'd spend far too much money! I'll probably get it next weekend I think. Along with spending a load of money on diving stuff at the exhibition in Brum.

i don't think you're life's going to be complete until you do
i forgot all about your diving - still doing it? ... cool, are you PADI approved and all that. my friend in hong kong tells me stories of diving in the south china sea as if its a walk in the park, it all sounds exciting. have you dived in hot and lush places?

The only hot and sunny place I've been diving was in Tenerife. There are a load from the club out in Lanzarote at the moment but work and money meant I couldn't go
The trip to Tenerife was good as I hadn't been diving in the real big sea before and saw lots of fish do live in the sea after all

how's things going with you? well i hope. i see you're coming up north - hopefully be a bit of a laff - you're a bit of an expert on meets - i won't be too terrified will i?
I'll probably be on on monday raving about the new cd from the mull historical society - so be warned!
got any plans for the weekend? me.... reading and critiquing a piece of crap (this places' phd handbook) the guy that wrote it is very attached to and i going to tell him why its rubbish

This afternoon is a bit of a resting time We went out for some beers at lunchtime as it was the bosses B'day and she got engaged earlier on in the week.
It will be a larf. From the list of names I've seen so far, the ones I've met are a real good bunch. Dead friendly and not at all odd ( is that right given this site is where everyone knows each other from...)
If I get my act together I'll get the Eels cd this weekend but I am going to be going up to Brum for the dive show there to get some things I need and have a wander round a look at bits of kit.
Sunday, depends on what I feel like when I wake up.
Go on, be a with your critique

Perhaps you should go and suggest the smiley then
Some work has had to be done though
If the guy wants an opinion, then be sure to give him one.
Just heard that one of the guys in the team is off to see New Order at Brixton tonight. Should be interesting to hear how it was next week.

hey, how was Brum? buy lots of shiney things and wee machines that go 'beep'? actually my mum's ex-psycho boyfriend (whom we imaginatively named 'psycho') was a deep sea diver, mostly on the riggs off the east coast, sometimes in saudi, but he did some really cool things in india (salvaging a statue of buddha from a lake) but i think the mixed gasses he used addled his brain - bit of a nutter (tried to sexually assult a wee lassie and tried to kill my brother)
anyway i'm sure not all divers are that cracked

I see why he got the imaginative nickname!
There were lots of shiny things and machines going beep. There was also lots of people trying to sell me a holiday all over the world (caribean, red sea, indonesia, australia). The pictures in the brocures did look nice

every family's got to have an encounter with a psycho at least once
tempted by any of the holidays? right now, sitting on a beach in the carribean, sipping rum and watching someone else dive sounds like the perfect antidote to a driech monday morning

I am tempted by the holidays. I'd like to go to the red sea next year (or the year after) .
It's been a horrible morning down here as well and yes I would rather be somewhere else relaxing in the warmth, drink in hand

the red sea sounds lovely - good diving there?

Solsbury Posted Oct 15, 2001
The red sea is supposed to be fantastic for diving. Best in the world I've been told. Handily not too far away either so you're not sitting on a plane forever when getting there.

och, you know, fair to middling, could be better, could be worst come to think about it (just had an email from a friend - she's having the worst fortnight of her life - she's been made redundant, her gran's just died, her boy friend of 7 days has just been sacked and after all the hassle trying to get groove armada tickets for tomorrow, she can't go) so i'm counting my blessings
i do indeed have the new one from MHS. nice happy pop tunes - reminds me of summer, in mull funnily enough, went there with the parents on many occassions when we were small... good diving there i imagine.
heard anything interesting lately?

Ouch, doesn't sound good for your friend
I've not heard any new interesting stuff recently. Last night I was just flicking through the pile, not really wanting to do or listen to anything much.
Off to the dive club tonight so no doubt I'll get to hear stories from the holiday to Lanzarote a bunch of them have just been on.
