Good heavens, where did those 2 days go?
I guess I must have had a thing or two to do.
One thing I did do though was to go and see "The Iron Lady" at the cinema. I thought it was a great film. Meryl Streep was brilliant as Margaret Thatcher and Jim Broadbent as Dennis. It very sensitively portrayed the failing health of the former PM and dealt nicely with her loss of Dennis.
How are you doing? Sorry to hear your connection went pear-shaped. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often.

Hi Les,
Things have been rather hectic, haven't they?
I've seen snippets of the film and Meryl Streep certainly portrays Thatcher well during her Downing Street years.
I don't know if I will manage to get to the cinema to see it, but I shall certainly want a dvd of it
Our connections can be fine for up to 2 years, and then they start messing about in the area

Today has dawned bright, sunny but distinctly colder! From the flight of the birds I can see that the wind has gone around into the north-east so I guess that's not surprising.
I put some washing out but just how much drying it's going to do remains to be seen!
I think there may be a case for lighting the living room fire this evening and huddling round it.
It's been a morning of bits and pieces; doing a little updating on the website and attending to a few odds and ends. I have a couple of documents to work on too.
Yesterday afternoon I had a friend's computer to sort out but I managed to do that remotely from here, taking control of her machine over the internet connection and doing the necessary. It saved an awkward cross-country drive to her village.
Keep smiling! s and

It was a beautiful dawn this morning
It stayed lovely and bright, not too cold.. until the sun moved and put us back into the shade!
The birds are trying to get frisky on the garden fences!
We had the man come out to service our boiler, it's 4 years old and so far nothings gone wrong with it.. but we still have some colder weather to come!
Keep warm

Hmmm... what can I say about today?
Well, I refilled the bird feeders and laid the fire, did some washing but it stayed indoors today, too cold to put it out. A little more computer work and then we went out this evening for a bit of fun with our Quaker friends. Yes, Quakers do have fun!
Tomorrow afternoon we set off for Evesham where we stay with friends overnight before going on to Birmingham on Monday. I hope it will stay dry and reasonable for driving. We wear a groove in the M5 we are up and down it so often!
Here we are, half-way through January and already we noticed today that it was staying light just a little later. What an encouraging sign!
Warmings and a good
to you!

Don't worry about it.. BMT ended up with double his journals this morning
This is a test posting, because we are not certain it's going to work.

Hopefully it will last a bit longer than it did earlier. I just managed to login and it kicked me back out again
It's been a beautiful day here - cold, but very bright
I love Evesham! We have often visited a pub by the river for a meal when we've been out for a long drive
Enjoy yourself and drive safely

Now in Birmingham, ensconced in my lovely big en-suite room and being fed amazing meals 3 times a day! No wonder I love being here and it's like a second home.
It is, however, bedtime again so I'll wish you a very good night and sleep tight, sweet dreams!

I will thanks Lil — well, I should say, I am.
Busy day today though. Morning spent painting the wall in one of the small kitchens, then a little plumbing-related job and lastly getting started on preparing some rather ornate bannisters and spindles for painting tomorrow. I try to get some of the jobs done that the regular maintenance man doesn't get time for but I'm frequently interrupted to go and sort out something more urgent. I'm only here until Friday so I rather suspect I shall run out of time before I run out of work!

So much for your 'relaxing' stay!
I seem to have got my server working properly again. Thank goodness!
See you tomorrow, if you manage to find the time
Goodnight love.. Sleep well

Thanks Lil; I did! (I have an honours degree in sleeping)
Today was, as expected, a very busy day spent mostly in painting and partly in sorting a couple of other problems about the building. I'm now a bit shattered but very content that the painting is done and seems to have worked out well.
That's good news about the server, well done there!
Look forward to next time.
Until then,es 'n

Hi Lil,
Ah, the best-laid plans of mice and men...
Two days without internet coverage — staying with friends out in the sticks and without wireless broadband we can hook up to.
And a change of plan too. Instead of returning home tomorrow we now have to go to Sheffield for a few days. My sister-in-law is panicking over her tax return and needs help before the deadline at the end of the month.
Ah well, they say that variety is the spice of life!
Hope all's well with you. n

Hi Les,
Lots of things have been going on in RL here. Part of it is in my journal - and basically others things keep cropping up.
I have my new motability car - It's very nice and one day I will learn to drive it
Tax Deadlines! I remember those well from when I worked at the Accountants, and all I had to do was check their entitlements and tell the boss of any discrepancies. No doubt many things have changed over the years.
Take care..
