I arrived on time, and both my girls arrived on time.
Can't see why there needs to be a delay... Not at all!

Well. Looks like I'll be having the sweep tomorrow when I have my next midwife appointment .
I'll then be ensconced at mumsies until I want to go home just in case it does trigger labour off.
Here's hoping!!!

What does the sweep do? Let's put that brush up and wiggle it around a bit.

VV, Charlie was born about a week after first sweep on the day the second was appointed... they dont always work but i think it helped a bit for all the embarrassment

When #3 was hesitating we went for a long walk in a secluded forest thinking that if we got lost there the contractions were sure to begin. Yup, they did!
Well, we didn't get lost, but it started to snow and the car wouldn't start right away so everything went almost - yet thankfully not entirely - as expected
But in the end everything w*rked out very well and 25 years later both I, my ex and our two sons are still very fond of our little
- who would probably kill me if she heard me mentioning her as a little

Well, I had my appointment. I spoke to the midwife and discussed whether or not to have the sweep. I advised that I had read that if the cervix isn't "ripe" then chances are the sweep wouldn't work so asked her to check first and if she thought it was ok then to go ahead.
I would have to add that this morning I lost my "plug" (go google it...).
Anyway, I'm 1 cm dilated which is good news although not in the slightest bit unexpected as apparently you can be that dilated much farther back in pregnancy.
Anyway, I had the sweep done and was ensconced at mumsies until about 30 minutes ago. Have had quite a few contractions since the sweep but nothing that I would count as being in "full labour" as they are too erratic at the moment but here's hoping.
The cervix is still slightly posterior and hasn't moved totally forward but the midwife did say that it has thinned quite a bit so hopefully..............
I have another sweep booked at the hospital day unit for a week tomorrow and the Midwife said I will then be booked in to be induced for 2 days after that so this being the case a week on Saturday I'll be in hospital until the baby is born Here's hoping the sweep works and these pesky little contractions gain some kind of rhythm and get doing what they should be doing.

I remember being nearly 10 cm dilated and dragging 2 toddlers round the supermarket doing the monthly shop. Clinging white-knuckled to the shopping trolley most of the time. No. 3 was out by lunch time the next day.
Go VV!
