scorp Posted May 21, 2009
please and yes I'm still here.
Whilst we are waiting, I'll just 'entertain' you with the contents of an e-mail I received recently:
NINE WORDS WOMEN USE (but of course not you darling)
(1) Fine:This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes:If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing:This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead:This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh:This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay:This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks:A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever:Is a woman's way of saying F--YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it:Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
* Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology.
* Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know it's true!!!

SO true!!!
When I got married, Gina's Dad was making his Father Of The Bride speech. He offered me this advice -
There are two words which will help you through married life -
"YES DEAR"
It's worked so far...

Bless you Moonhogg. I've avoided ringing as P will have more than enough on his plate without any interruptions from the likes of me. It's so much easier for them if we wait around for news from you.

lil update
She is having to stay in the recovery room overnight, as she not breathing correctly/normally enough and requires a one to one nurse. This is because there are only 2 nurses on the ward and could not give the cover needed. They have her on mild painkillers at the moment.

Hi folks!
I've had a natter with Toni this evening. She and Hubby sounded on good form - between them and my missus I was getting the p*** taken out of me something rotten, so the mood there is a good one.
It seems lil is having trouble shifting the anaesthetic from her system. While she's awake she's ok, a bit drowsy, but has been talking with Pete. When she nods off the anaesthetic has been causing her breathing to slow right down. As a result they have to keep someone monitoring her all the time, and keep waking her up. Apparently she doesn't take kindly to being woken up all the time!
There's still some morphine left in her system, and she's being topped up with paracetamol, which seems to be keeping her comfortable, so for now it's a "sit back and wait" job while her body tries to clear it's system.
The general slant of the conversation was that they are concerned, but not worried.
