As a kid we stayed in Kilmory for about 8 summers

Three years back we went to Branault, nearby, then the past two years, and this summer, Portuairk.

I'm in love with the area. As an enforced townie, I love the remoteness, the peace and quiet, and the clean air.

At home, I sit eating my breakfast looking at the local tyre and exhaust centre. In the caravan we hire in Portuairk, I look out over Sanna bay, and the Hebrides. We went up with the inlaws last year. My father in law looked out of the window and said "Just sitting here looking at that is worth the price of the holiday! The rest of it is just a bonus!"

He'll be back!!

I am, been playing with the dog in the garden.

Ah, I know the Strontian area best. Going there this evening actually.

Ahh, Strontian! I pass there on the way from the Corran Ferry. The last bit of good road before we hit the single track! We've covered about 350 miles from home, and still have another 50 or so to go, on the slowest - but most beautiful - bit... It's quite a drive, but well worth it!

You may have noticed, I love the whole area up there!
