No. It's not going pop any time soon. As long as the Edited Guide keeps going, then the site will keep going. The whole point of the site is the Edited Guide you see. If people don't write for the guide, then the BBC may think the site isn't any use to them and may pull the plug.

Have you thought about writing for the guide?

Not at all.

If you have a look on the left hand side of your screen, you will see a button called Peer Review. This is where entries you've written go for a minimum of 7 days. This allows any corrections to be sorted out.

If you go to the front page, you will see 3 entries that have just made it to the guide.

Also, if you use the search function in h2g2, you will find loads of information that people have written. For example, if you search for Hives, you will find an entry of mine that was edited a while back.

go and have a wonder around and read some stuff. If someone has done a guide entry and it's been edited, you will see them in each persons personal space at the bottom.

We must have joined at about the same time, Vicki, I just had my fourth hootoversary.

Actually, a friend of mine had seen it and told me about it. Emailed me the link and I looked it over and thought I'd join to see what it's about.
