Hi all, just had a call from Lil's hubby.
Lil is much more comfortable today, pain control is down from Morphine to co-dydromol now and she has been mobile. Lil will be in hospital till Monday at the earliest as she needs to see the physiotherapist and will be under observations till then. It would appear at this moment that the operation went well albeit the procedure was different to what was originally intended. I'll let either Lil herself or VC explain the finer detail there.

She is fine and doing well.

Do you know if she is able to get text messages on her mobile yet? She wasn't sure she would be able to take it into hospital with her... sometimes the signal interferes with certain equipment.

I kicked up such a fuss they eventually let me have mine, but i could only use it in certain areas, but that motivated me to get moving as soon as possible...backfired slightly 'cos the "use mobile" room is also "smoking room" so i puffed away madly & promptly passed out!

PS I meant to add, she has recieved various text messages but is not allowed to have the mobile phone on officially so is unlikely to be able to reply, she has read the messages however.


{Been there, done that, it was the Prof who phoned me, inadvertantly setting off my heart monitor alarm along with 2 other monitor alarms when I was in the cardiac unit recently. Had to be the Prof did'nt it!}

GRRRR it still won't send, maybe 'cos i am sending it from a French mobile? Can someone please pass on to Lil that i am thinking of her, wish her all the best etc....& if she feels down, just go through the list of naughty smileys & she will soon be again.

Hi all, just had call from Lil's hubby. The latest is Lil has had an 'up and down sort of day today,she has had some pain that required morphine again but is back on normal pain killers now. She has got a slight infection in the 'wound' site and is currently awaiting blood test results. She is still up and mobile. Lil had been sick yesterday a residue of which had soaked into the pad covering the wound. The concensus is that may have caused the slight infection.
I have also re'cd several text msgs. directly from Lil as well and in her usual inimitable style, declaring she is a good girl despite using phone in the ward.
Hubby will be visiting tomorrow night so next update will be after 9pm tomorrow unless I here direct from Lil before hand.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all will turn out well for Lil... and that she will have plenty of of course...
