Those reality TV programmes are so ridiculous. We have one set in the jungles of Australia with Brtish B list celebs. The funny thing was I watched it avidly before I went to Oz, and it didn't put me off
But seriously we should be grateful to all those creatures cos without them the ecosystem would not work and we'd all be dead! let's here it for wasps, snakes, spiders, pedes, bacteria, fungi etc etc Yay!

Funny that sleeping under the stars thingy...
I slept under the stars in Yellowstone ages ago (before the arrival of the hatchlings) and never thought about creepy things, snakes and such until someone told me to always turn my boots up and down and shake them before putting them on...
Never been as fun sleeping under the stars efter that...

I've known a few people that got bitten by a nasty centipede on Bequia (and Carriacou) and to get quite ill from it. We *always* shake our shoes out before putting them on there ... ya never know what might have crawled in!

Did you know that in the north of Oz they have frogs in their dunnies (toilets). I found it a most strange experience to park my arse above a couple of large green frogs stuck just below the bit where the water flush comes out!

To be honest compared with er's lack of hospitality, give me frogs in toilets anytime! oh and snakes and spiders and scorpions, and I'm sorry I shouldn't keep harping on about that, I'll try never to mention it again...really I will, cross my heart and...

Out of politeness to any new members who maybe wondering what the f**k I'm going on about. This thing which I'm not going to go on about again concerns someone I refer to as er, who is Evil Roy, an Aussie I met up with in RL when I went to Australia, who had been a hootoo friend. But it turned out that we couldn't be friends in RL. I have harboured a grudge ever since, but hope now to let it go.

Oh in case anyone misunderstood the above. I actually spent nearly three months in Oz on a trip, the meet-up with er only happened as a 'friend' at the end.

As always, you're a bold and brave woman, Red ... but never more so than you were in the streets of Melbourne, Victoria, AU.
