What a depressing year...

For the second time in five months I'm feeling terribly sad, and wish I could find words that would either make some sense or lend some comfort.
But I can't.
I have noticed that far too many sane and rational people are expressing extreme and ill-considered views - on the net, on the street, everywhere it seems.
This is a time of high emotion but cool heads must prevail. Things are inevitably going to get worse before they improve - it would help everyone, everywhere, if we all think long and hard before saying anything that could spread more hatred...which is, after all, what caused this weeks tragic events.

Dusting off the keyboard

Real life has been terribly intrusive of late. You'd think working just three days a week and enjoying uninhibited use of the internet both at work and at play I'd find more time to participate in h2g2 life......
But no, and to be honest, I have no idea why.
I might not have time to keep up with local gossip any more, but can that really explain my failure to nudge my browser in this direction for several months?
Suggestions on a postcard, please.
Now I'm back, I really can't go without a few brief words on Munich.

Brief, but totally clear in meaning, I believe. And if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, then you wouldn't care anyway.

Well, the end of the millennium involved much flooding and disaster, so I decided to hide for a while. Armageddon can be bad for your health, you know.
Everything still seems to be here though, so it's probably time to rejoin society. Maybe if I can escape from RL long enough I'll get a chance....

What can I say?
There aren't many better days out - a three-nil win against a bogey side, lots of celebration, an h2g2 meet and the company of a hungry woman.
