...and I'm reading a book which you would swear is written by Henry Kissenger...I mean...the guy says "caloric thermodynamics"...thermodynamics deals with the motions of heat and caloric is a way of discribing something as dealing with heat...so he's using two words where one would suffice...I'm almost afraid to joke about it but I fear he might break out a symbolic hyphen to bring in Hawthorne's Accursed style!

and now I realize it's worse than I thought...he ment caloric as in the idea that heat transfer was simply a substace know as calor moving around...in which case 'calorics' would be perfectly fine...gah
