Anyway, it's like the evolutionary Red Queen theory when she says "you can run as fast as you can just to stay in the same place." In that sense, Crichton used it in Jurrasic Park to explain the plants evolving to survive the herbivores, who evolve, and then the plants adapt more (i.e. the downwind thing). Perhaps chaos (change) and order (structure) are co-evolving.
Perhaps I'm full of baloney.
