Just to update.... Mam not well at all in reality... She doesn't seem to mind being in the home, but for most of it she's giving up on life..
She calls out to her own mam, passed some 18/19 years or so, also she keeps shouting "Tom"... Tom was my dad/her husband, he passed 4 years ago... She just want's to end it now, she used to be a fighter, but now, all the fight's gone... It's so distressing to see her like this...
It's not the same mam I knew, but it's still the same mam I love..

I know it gets difficult to settle into anything, if you are agitated

Beg them to sedate her. For her sake and yours. It's honestly the only answer love; she isn't going to get better & it is evil making her suffer, especially with memories & need of her lost love.

I get immensely angry about the treatment of people who are quite obviously coming to the end of their lives. How come we let our pets retire with dignity & as little suffering as possible, but we deny this to much loved humans?

Sedation is better than suffering, after a point.

Euthanizing my when he began to suffer and had no happy ending coming was peaceful and respectful. My mother whom refused a tracheostomy suffered for 6 weeks while they tried repeatedly to wean her from artificial breathing. 5 weeks longer than a respect for life called for in her particular instance and desire. *IMO*

I really think they're(Terri & abbi)right Shery!*sigh* I know maybe it's not the easiest decision to make but in this case I think it's the right thing to do.

Understand about the sedation, but when you ask her if she's in pain she always says no... But she's giving up now big style... It's heartbreaking but we have to accept it...

The home are waiting on the Macmillan nurses to sort out mams pain relief now..
She is clearly in pain but won't admitt it, she's a stubborn old bugger...
Been twice today to see her, it's heartbreaking...

Awww... Great that the Macmillan nurses are on the case; they are very good & i am sure they will get things sorted quickly. Heartbreaking for you meanwhile though.

Just an update...
Mam now on morphine, 4 hourly, oral...
She's shouting out, mainly her mam, and my dad, plus few swear words... She still won't admit to the pain...
Just waiting now for the inevitable.....

Get the buggers to increase the dosage; oh poor you. She probably isn't aware but you are.
