Ah yes, your photo-illustrated horror story. I hope it goes OK this time then.

I shouldn't be surprised, but African giant snails! How cool is that?!
And yes. That is a doppelganger.

Aha! It's good to have a second opinion. Mind you, as I've said before, I think I prefer the doppelganger to the real Gothly.

Glad you enjoyed it too, Milla.
Londoners: I'll be in Streatham, London between Monday 11th and Thursday 14th September, if you fancy a drink / snail / sit on a park bench.

Like, I haven't heard that one before!
Actually, giant African landsnails have virtually no taste (so I'm told) and the garlic's the only thing that makes 'em worth eating. It seems to me that people could save a whole lot of money by just eating neat garlic.

Sea Change Posted Sep 5, 2006
PZ Myers says this about the video animation:
What you'll see is the series of events that transpire when a lymphocyte encounters a cell surface signal that triggers emigration out of a capillary and into other tissues; it zooms rather abruptly from a cellular view to the molecules on the surface interacting with one another, then into the interior of the cell to see the response. All kinds of cool stuff fly by: actin and microtubule assembly and disassembly, kinesin-mediated vesicle transport, protein synthesis on ribosomes, ER processing, vesicle fusion, etc.

Thanks, Sea Change. I might paste that into the LJ thread, for the benefit of dewimorgan. If I get round to it...
