I'm happy in as much as I earn more and dont have to pay to park the car but to be honest I'm going to start looking for another job - this is starting to do my head in now

Sorry to hear you're not happy in the job I recall you saying you were upset when they moved you off nights. But if you want to leave, then use this job as a wage payer until you find something better, let then pay your bills while you look aboutone.

I've not had any trouble personally but I was very upset about the digi-box users losing their access and the way it was done! I've made some very good friends who are digibox users and I thought the people who wanted rid of them were being very arrogant about what they were doing!
But thats just my personal opinion.

I agree about the digibox users. I'd made some good friends and its sad some of them cannot get on. One goes to a local library and logs on there, but even so, its sad. Why should I not talk to you again. Is there something wrong with the page? If so you can tell me. I hold no grudges.

No it will not stop me from talking to you on the threads, no worries. I used to smoke, gave it up about 18 years ago. It was a fight, a struggle, but I did it. One of my clerks used to say it's easy to give up smoking, he's done it lots of times A lady friend says she went to a hypnotist. We just don't like to tell her, every time I click my fingers she does a chicken impresssion No seriously.
I have what is known as cronic rhinitist. Which is a something non smokers get and they get it from smokers. It's like a cold when they breath in smoke fumes.
If you want to smoke. then go ahead, it's ok by me
I don't ask people if they object to me having a glass of beer.

I gave up for 15 yrs but started again when marriage started to run into problems - blame it on the stress but thats only an excuse! Having said that I never smoke in front of people who dont smoke unless they say they dont mind! I know it's a very anti social habit and dont inflict it on other people if I can help it! I dont even smoke in the house except for in the computer room cos the kids dont like it!

Girlfriend doesn't smoke, so I'm lucky there. I have no smoking signs in the car, and I'm pretty strict on that. I hired a car once, and it stank of tobacco.

I have to confess I do smoke in the car but only when the kids aren't in it and I have the window open so that most the smoke goes out and then leave it opne for a while to air car out a bit! Even tho I'm a smoker I do understand that other people find it smelly and nasty!

It's gone really quiet here now - was busy earlier on too!

Oh wow, Des and Mel on TV. How have I lived without this programme Alright I'm lying, bl***y tosh they put on this time of night.

I dint watch any TV at night at work - no TV's allowed in call centre and not really enough time to watch anything on breaks Anyway, there's no TV in the social outcasts room

Waht kind of food do you get at night?

This time of night it's usually breakfast stuff, sausages, bacon or cerels and things like that. They don't fry anything, the bacon and stuff is usually baked.Do you not have canteen facilities there? Outcasts room?

Outcasts room = smokeing room!

We dont have a canteen, just vending machines which consist of soggy sandwiches, pasties, pies and a couple of ready meals which we can shove in the microwave

Considering it's a 24/7 operation I think it's a pretty poor show

I do as well.
We used to have a really good canteen, then they brought in outside contractors, and it went downhill rapidly. They cater more for the foreign element and even that's ruined. They used to have a roast dinner on the menu every Sunday. Beef one week, pork the next, lamb the next and so on. This Sunday they had Spanish omlette, Italian Pizza and pasta. I once said to the manager about this and he sneered and said, all you want is sausages and chips. Well no, but it would be a novelty if they did. The best things they do are the breakfasts and mixed grill, because it's all done fresh.

It still sounds a lot better than the facilities we have on offer here. We cant even get fresh fruit or a salad. Most of us bring our own food in or else, if it's not too busy, we send out for a pizza or burger or something!

I'm off to lunch at 3.30 and I've got chicken Kiev and rice that I brought with me from home
