IOn tonight and Wednesday Night.
Good to hear from you.
I'm fine. Colleen and I went away to friends for the weekend. Went to the Isle of Sheppy in kent. I was best man at their wedding. Their eldest is a girl of 24 and their son is 21. We had a really nice weekend.
How's yourself? Every thing ok? How's the house selling? And the young?

I'm fine too thanx
Still waiting to exchange contracts on the house but things seem to be moving forward slowly but surely! It's no wonder you never see a poor solicitor.......they earn their money by spinning things out it seems to me
Kids are good too.........daughter back in college after the summer break and son has started a new school this term! He was in a private school but due to divorce etc, we can no longer afford to keep him there, so he's gone to the local comp! Seems to have settled in well and quite enjoys it there - so far His comments to his elder sister were that he'd made some friends, there was some 'top totty' and the food was better than his old school..........talk about getting your priorities right

My friend's daughter has just passed her final exams as a solicitor. She is handling criminal law. I asked her if she wanted to go on and become a barrister, but she said solicitors get all the work whereas Barristers have to wait to be offered a case.
Yup, sounds like your lad has his head screwed on alright.Totty and food. Yup, bout sums it up.Seriously sorry to hear of the divorce messing his education, but happy to hear he's settling down in another type of school.

tsarina Posted Sep 14, 2004
Well he's 14 now and 'totty' is starting to feature high on the agenda and he's always been a lad that likes his food, so finding both all under the same roof must be like heaven on earth
It's a shame he couldn't stay in his old school but sometimes life's a bitch and they have to learn, even at that tender age, that they can't always have what they want! When we first told him he was going to have tro change schools he was devasted but came to terms with it when he realised that financially it was just impossible for us to manage! Anyway, it only took him a day to settle down in his new school so it cant be that bad

Sounds like he's come to terms with it, so that's great.
Colleen and I spent the weekend with my friend and his family and the solicitor girl is his daughter. We had a fun time. They live on the isle of Sheppy in kent
Weather was very nice and we even got to stroll along the beach I thought it was a bit cold, but Coll said I was just thin blooded. Still think it was cold. Noticed that there was no one bathing.

Glad you had a good w/e and relaxed Were you nervous making your speech or don't you mind speaking in public?
Weather here over the w/e was fowl so don't think I would've been walking on any beaches! Not that I'm a big fan of beaches anyway............that sand gets EVERYWHERE!!!
Barn owl
The Liquid Warrior (Vescere bracis meis) Posted Sep 15, 2004
Speech?
Well, actually, it wasn't the beach but the path that went along the top. I wouldn't have gone on the beach. It's all stones anyway.
Been very busy tonight, just getting to the end of it. The worse thing is the paperwork. Still I suppose you'll never get the paperless job.

tsarina Posted Sep 15, 2004
oooooooooops read your previous post about being best man at your friends wedding wrong thought yu meant you were best man this w/e feel now
My job is virtually paperless, everything's done on the pc Only time we have to write anything is if a Telewest customer wants a credit.........we can't refer them to out customer service, it has to go thro Telewest so we have to fill out a form

The Liquid Warrior (Vescere bracis meis) Posted Sep 15, 2004
Nope, my mistake, should have explained. Should have been clearer.
Actually hate public speaking. feel self conscious.
Reached the stage where a good kip wouldn't go amiss. Another four hours 15 minutes.
Breakfast in a minuyte, see what they can ruin... dish up.
It's funny really. Don't get an invite to anything, then this Saturday it was the Isle of Sheppy, another friend's daughter's engagement and a Lodge meeting. Three things at once. Went to the Island. I've known that friend longest.
Paper galore in this job. People fill in forms for what they want done, we do the job, then fill in what we've done, stock used and so on. All very boring, it's we can charge for the job

Don't come back and tell me what you had for brekkie plz it's sandwiches, baguettes or pasties here, as you know
Think I'm going to put my feet up and close eyes for a while.........it's been dead for the last few nights but the time really drags when you've got nothing to do! Sounds but I'd rather be reasonably busy all night!
Anyway, enjoy you;re breakfast and I'll catch up with you when you get back

The Liquid Warrior (Vescere bracis meis) Posted Sep 15, 2004
Haven't been for brekkers yet. Been too busy. I too would rather be busy than just sit and twiddle my thumbs. Last copying job just coming off machine at the moment, so only TX's now.
Will go get brekkers now.
Don't worry, won't tell you what I'm having

Hi Helen
Good to hear from you.
Hey don't worry about not being in touch. I know what it's like, especially when things get busy. It can be mayhem here.
to hear of your housing problems. I wasn't around to greet you.
Is your lad enjoying his new school?
How's the job?.....Or shouldn't I ask?
The wedding is now just a memory, too, isn't it?
Still Christmas is on the horizon. Not a great fan, but it is still there and refuses to be ignored. I am working nights 20th, 21st, 22nd then off until lates 27th, 28th and 29th and then off until lates 1st & 2nd.
It is not so bad. At least I'm not on the main day, I suppose. The girlfriend is going to Tenerife on the 21st and returning on the 28th with a gang of girls.
I don't know what it's like there. Here it's misty and frosty and very cold. Still trying to convince the council to put central heating into the flat.
Anyway, don't want to bore you. Keep in touch, really good to hear from you.
Tony

Sorry not been in touch. Knee replacement fell to pieces on Nov 30 and had to go in for an operation on Dec 30. Had to learn to walk and have only just returned to work today.

Hi Tony,
Thought I'd resurrect this rather old thread
How are things with you? It's a long time since we last chatted
To bring you up to date a little......the house is almost sold on the third attempt.......have decided that trying to sell a house has got to be the worst nightmare scenario Anyway, fingers crossed that this one doesn't fall thro

Sincerely very nice to hear from you again, Helen. You have, it goes without saying, my best wishes for your sale. Things are getting a bit silly here, they are talking about cutting out the nights shifts, which would cut down our chance to chat.

tsarina Posted May 17, 2005
