it isn't really that big of a jump from 12 to 13. the major jumps are when you go to a new school (here in the states the jump between 5th and 6th, and then from 8th to 9th). Age jumps aren't that big until 16 (drivers lisence) 17 (R rated movies) 18 (adult)and 21 (alcohol).

Yeah here you're allowed alcohol as long as you're in your own home at the time but i still feel it's sortof illegal so I never have any!!

I commented on a section of her webpage a few days ago and thought she would notice -- she hasn't. I never logout of this, I just disconnect on the internet and when I get back on it is still connected.

No you don't actually log out of h2g2 unless it's a public computer or you have more than one personality on here (*smirk* I have four!!). When you disconnect from the Internet after about ten minutes h2g2 realises you're gone and removes you from the users list. Unless you have a slow browser of course which means that you stay *online* for about half an hour after you've gone.
How do I know this?? Well somehow I have three browsers.. A very slow one (N3) this one (IE30) and a fast one that breaks down (NCommunicator). I don't know why, it was on here when we got connected... Who knows, we just accept it all don't we.

With regards to the alcohol..
You are allowed to drink in your own home with your parents consent at any age, as long a they realise that they are responsible for your actions and welfare.
The next step is at fourteen when you are allowed to go into pubs, as long as you don't drink the booze.
At sixteen you are allowed wine with a meal in a restaurant.
Also at sixteen you are allowed to work behind a bar selling alcohol, as long as you are part of a nationally recognised training scheme.
You are not however allowed to sell alcohol anywhere else, so all those people under eighteen who work on supermarket tills, selling booze are breaking the law. Unless they call over their supervisor to watch them do it.
Then comes eighteen when all your senses go mad and you really learn what a hangover is.
That's for over here in the UK anyway.
In case you hadn't guessed I use to be a cellarman.
