But even if I am a fictional character, I feel as if I have feelings. Or at least, The Author has written me that way. So perhaps the fictional charactes have feelings that are just as real as my own synthetic feelings.

And of course the whole thing might loop somewhere. Perhaps the M*A*S*H characters write books about The Great Wazoo, who writes books about Melvin the Intrepid, who writes books about The Author, who writes books about us, who write books about the M*A*S*H characters...

I think I'll go and take my meds now.

When I was little I used to feel like I was on some sort of TV or Movie camera at all times. This feeling was strongest when I was on the toilet. Strangely enough, I haven't felt it much since seeing "The Truman Show".

I did watch MASH a few times, but was never really interested in it.

Someone here just asked if I was being a college student for Halloween. Guess they're right! Happy New Year to all the Wiccans out there, but don't burn me at the stake for being a heritic, I don't know if my anscestros personally did that sort of thing, but I'm just a white, anglo saxon, protestant, american male, who never did anybody any harm but always feels the need to appologize for being white, protestant, and male. Happy Samhain. Happy Halloween. Good Afternoon! See you 'round!

Samhain was a celtic pagan holiday that's probably the original source of Halloween. One place with decent info is http://www.witchvox.com/white/wsamhainhistory.html

if you notice, I wrote
àghmhór an' Callúinnhe
which is old celtic for lucky new year (closest to happy new year)
Callúinnhe means New Year and *sounds like* Halloween - well, pronounce it (k)Gah-loo-i(ee)n-(uh)
[er it is a bit difficult to describe how to pronounce something that uses a lot of sounds english doesn't. the ( ) indicate a sort of less distinct pronunciation of the letters, preferring the others in the same syllable, but still kind of distinguishing the ( ) letters in the syllable or as a dipthong or part of another syllable, i didn't do phonetics or in depth study of words ever so I don't know the terminology]
and some say it is dervied from the Roman calends, only it is at the wrong time of year and the word is a bit older than Roman interaction with the celts and it isn't really to do with Halloween, which word has different roots and a totally different background

Pagan's ok. I certainly don't have a problem with it, but even with the idea of multiple gods, there must still be one supreme force to govern them. Otherwise, you'd come right back to chaos.
Don't know if it was the Greeks or the Romans, but one of them had multiple gods and Zeus was their king or leader. Lots of myths and legends about him.
Point being, of course, that even if you believe in multiple gods (like pagans do) there must be a leader or king of those gods.
Right?

AEndr, The Mad Hatter

Err both of them had multiple gods and they identified with them both the same attributes

ie.greek/Roman
Zeus/Jupiter...leader
Hera/Juno...wife
Poseidon/Neptune...of sea..brother
etc etc

as for the celts
one goddess who WAS all the other gods/goddesses
