Stuff and nonsense and stolen money
Posted Aug 25, 2012
Hm. I haven't posted on the H2G2 at all since May. I guess this is as good a time as any to say something ...
Short version: my debit card's info got stolen (somehow; we have no idea), and someone used it to spend US$170 at a computer-hardware site called Newegg. My dad's lending me money to cover it, but, ehh.
Also I decided, apropos of basically nothing, to reveal my Secret Alternate Internet Identity (not that anyone looked, but the giveaway is that according to Google, I'm the only person on the internet who used the exact phrase "Secret Alternate Internet Identity"), which is KimikoMuffin, a persona which can only be described as gender-bent out of shape on the internet. Here's the blog post where I explained the debit card situation in more detail: http://dizzy.pestermom.com/?p=blog-20120818 And here's a followup in which I revealed my Yar Kramer identity to the KimikoMuffin crowd: http://dizzy.pestermom.com/?p=blog-20120824 (Warning: both links contain trace amounts of foul language.)
Like I said there, now I pretty much don't give a anymore; it was kind of pointless to outright hide the two social circles from each other. So, Yeah.

Um ... nine months, then.
Hm. Someday I'll have to reveal my Secret Alternate Internet Identity, as well as just what I've been doing for the past couple of years.

Oh, hmm.

Haven't posted here in ten months. I seem to have drifted out again.
Hmm. And there's no Touhou Project presence on any DNA site whatsoever. (That's my Thing lately, apart from Metal Gear Solid). In fact, there's no results for the word "Touhou" in any context, except for my self-aggrandizing "abilities" page, in which it isn't even talking about Touhou Project. Well ... except for this post, now.
Ah well, I suppose I'll just end up wandering away for *another* ten months ...

Status Update on 42

I've got a temp job at Wal-Mart as of ... well, three months ago, actually. It's remodelling, and needs people to do so. I'm feeling traces of "oh, gods, I still have a full month left of this ?"
My external hard drive, with 95% of everything of importance on it, fell off my desk a few weeks ago and is now a nonfunctioning hard drive. I'm hoping something can be done about it, but it looks like *most* of what can be done about it would cost $500 to $2000, and I've got sensitive information on it (e.g. passwords, financial info) which I wouldn't want even professional technicians to see. I'm making do, though, to the extent that this is actually possible.
Fortunately, most of my pursuits are online ones. Ah well.

Horrid pun of the moment
Posted Apr 19, 2009
I'm imagining a movie poster depicting a smiley face with three eyes, and also a blood-spatter in one corner, with the word "WATCHMETROPOLITAN" below that.
Also, I just moved to an apartment across the street (long, bureaucratic story). Still settling in; I'm "mooching" off the internet of my old apartment, simply because we haven't moved my desk and deskchair, and also becase I have no internet access in my new apartment yet (this includes other peoples' unsecured wireless connections, yar-har).
