I'm with cable already and someone has to come and put the line in. I will check it out again but I think BT has the monopoly for this job (apart from cable lines).

That's a very clever photographic thingy by the way. What lovely coloured hair you have!

Hmmm, my hair colour nowadays is more grey, so not a nice colour - that's where the hairdresser comes in. smiley - biggrin
I'm glad I chose the right colour, though.smiley - puffsmiley - winkeye

Looks as if this cable-thingy is similar to here, then. I think it's German telecom which has the monopoly for the cables, and all other providers have to use those, and probably pay something to GT.

Well whaddya know. BT just came round and put a new line in. I wasn't even expecting them. They hadn't even made an appointment. Luckily I wasn't in a rush and got it done. I haven't worked out who my broadband provider will be yet though. More research... less time with the family!

That's an example for some telepathy at its best then. smiley - winkeye

Btw, there'll be the h2g2 London spring meet on 26 April - any chance you'd go there?

I think it's unlikely, but I'll put it in my diary.
I think it's marvellous that you have managed to get to so many of the meets. Do you enjoy them?

Naww, it's just that it's more difficult for him to follow a conversation in English than it is for me, plus he isn't really interested in h2g2 in the first place, so he'll only be bored. He went once, and said it was nice, but isn't actually interested in meeting my friends, so it's not worth the extra cost if he came along. smiley - smiley

How are you, and how's the broadband doing? Did you manage to watch any of the h2g2 youtube clips?

I intend to get onto that soon.
Beatles songs are good ones to get people of my generation singing.

I've got a heavy cold which I can only describe as man flu so I hope I don't pass it on to you.

I'm sitting at the computer feeling very sorry for myself.
