Charlton Heston
Charlton Heston is an awe-inspiring actor. Now this is not a very popular opinion with the kids- I think his super conservative right winger politics have hurt him. But ignoring his politics- he is so dramatic and over the top that I am just very impressed. I think the biblical roles where always his best, esp. Ben-Hur, but then again most all the roles are messainic on some level. Like in Planet of the Apes how Taylor comes back to earth and challenges all of the beliefs and such of the Apes- is it really moral to kill humans? are they more than animals- I think that is an interesting way to look at a moral question. Just over the weekend I finally saw the Omega Man- again Mr. Heston is cast in a saviour type role. this wasn't the best movie- I think bits of the story where butchered in the transfer from book to movie but I haven't read the book so I can't say for sure. but it was pretty good any way. Oddly enough I am an atheist and the only religious things that aren't terribly boring and trite to me are Charlton Heston's biblical films- I always get excited when Ben-Hur meets Jesus. So, in conclusion- Charlton Heston kicks rocks.Conversations
