You know what they say Jack, once you choose a club your with them for life.
Why weren't we advised on the risks of being a football supporter when we were younger?

I don't know, Mac. But we should have been.
It's even worse than getting married. If a marriage doesn't work out you can get a divorce. Even if you don't like your kids you can be rid of them when they reach 18. Dodgy mates? Just stop seeing them. Unlikeable family? Lose touch. But your football club stays with you forever.
There's no escape.

Is definitely in order Jack. Congrats! And thanks to Lil.
Jack, maybe we need to educate the masses. If you're thinking of supporting a club that isn't Chelsea, Manchester City or Manchester United...don't bother. It's not worth the agony.

Yes, nice work Lil.
On the downside Mac, that will leave an entire generation of only Chelsea, Man U and Man City supporters.
A nightmare scenario.
And what happens if Abramovich and the sheikh both go under a bus and the Glazers finally milk United dry?
An entire generation who support financially ruined clubs struggling to stay out of the Blue Square Premier League, that's what.
Which, when I come to think of it, would actually be quite amusing.

Right. It's chicken for lunch today.
I am revelling in my new freedom.
I can say almost anything now.

Of course we are, Mac.
So if you think you're seeing any double entendres in any of my posts you can be sure it's you that has the filthy mind, not me.

We've always used Lil. On the other BBC forums it looked better than this incarnation though. Plus it didn't actually look angry.

I must admit, it's a very intimidating smiley
I've only ever had one directed at me once, and it certainly made me back away from the person who did it

Because as a newbie I forgot my nettiquette, and my guru was putting me back in my place
I never made that mistake again. Plus it helped to make me the Researcher I am today
Don't apologise, now I know why you all use it, I will let you get on with your conversation

Thanks agin, Lil.
A few drinks are in order as a mark of gratitude, I think.
The smiley looked different on the other boards. And we used it to indicate anger, mock anger or Arsenal's season going down the pan.
