Well, that went well in the end.

I don't know why people were so negative before the match. I was always confident.

We're not mad enough to stay in work that late.

There's a couple of teams in Pot 4 that I've never heard of. Who the hell are Otelul Galati and Viktoria Plzen?

I know the countries that they are from and that's about it.

Hmmm, should have guessed that Plzen is the Czech form of Pilsen. A great brewing town and therefore we should wish them well.



And it turns out the other lot are Romanians.

Oh well, at least we've made the fourteen in a row.

Shame we'll hardly be able to field a team at the weekend so we should just concentrate on avoiding a cricket score but last night's game was the most important one to win in the context of the season.

I've been trying to work out who our midfield trio will be this weekend. Best I can think of is to push Djourou forward to play alongside Rosicky and Ramsey. But that requires Vermaelen and Koscielny to be fit and possibly neither of them will.

We might recall Coquelin I suppose, I can only rate him based on pre-season games about three years ago. He was good but like I say, it was three years ago!

Speaking of cricket Jack, England are playing Ireland in Dublin at the moment. Well I say at the moment, unsurprisingly rain stopped play.

Vermaelen did want to come off during the match last night apparently. Then again, this weekend is a write-off anyway.

Forgot about that Coquelin guy, Mac. If he doesn't get picked this week he should just retire.

Not raining here at the moment and as the crow flies I'm only a couple of kilometres from where the match is. There's plenty of dark clouds hovering though.

Anyway, after the cricket World Cup we already know that Ireland are better than England.
