Welcome to Annie's page, a bit about me:
just for Dukkie ;-)
6oz plain flour, 6oz butter, 2oz cornflour, 2 oz icing sugar put all into a bowl and rub together to a breadcrumb then heat of hands will help make it into a ball of dough quite easily. Once in a ball use a rolling pin well foured and on a well floured table roll out the dough ton about 1/4 inch thick using a cutter cut out the biscuits it should make around 12-13 biscuits.
put on a floured baking tray and cook in a preheated oven of 180°C for 8-10 minutes keeping an eye on them because they will brown and overcook quickly and you want to catch them just before the brown (they begin to go at the edges first so keep an eye out).
You can eat them like that or sandwich together with seedless strawberry or raspberry jam and ice with a simple icing sugar and water mix just adding drops of water to icing sugar to make a thick but spreadable icing then top with a cherry.
I live in the North East of England and have a wonderful family. We grow organic veggies and I purchase organic food stuffs when able but I also make sure I purchase local produce as much as possible.
The garden, despite the fact I know so little on the subject, is now my domain. Although the family still keeps the allotment that we use produce from.
When it comes to food I make all our bread and love to make basic peasant style foods. I feel they are quite something special and I love to make 99% of our meals from scratch so that I can add my own touch to dishes.
My idea of ready made meals is something I have prepared earlier and frozen.
My favourite pastimes include my children, music (particularly classical), cooking, reading (from JK Rowling to Shakespear), pets (horses and cats), walking on the moors and beach not particularly in that order. I don't ride but my children do, I'm just the stablehand. Our current stable consists of a 13 yr old part welsh ex show pony 12.1 hh an 8 yr old 14 hh M&M brilliant school master and hunting pony and an 8 yr old 16.1 hh part Arab dressage horse.
