That's okay though, ... I still have a couple of leads that point that I'm the 39th cousin, (four times removed) of Master Bill Gates.

Oh yeah, just what I need, ... a lifetime of M$ mailing offerings, and the most unstable beta-versions of anything they produce.
I think I'll go back to the lotteries.

I'd love to try out other options.. linux, openoffice, ... but I'm stuck with standards, compatibility, cooperation, conversion problems.. in short: "microsoft".
last week a village won 24 MEuro. I think two households won some 6 or so and the rest was split over the others in the village participating in the lottery (odd lottery : on zip code)

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 10, 2007
That kind of a winning would do some lovely things for the village that I grew in. Not counting the number of children per house, I'd guess there were perhaps 90 or so "families". If most took an equal share, they'd be nicely assisted with educations, community facilities, buffered against the rising costs of fighting winter in older homes...
If the whole village wasn't Catholic, and hence "officially" against gambling, I'd suggest they create such a pool for the mega-sized lotteries.

Babette - Dinosaure Posted Jan 11, 2007
ah yes.. well, mind you, this was one of the rare occasions where the winning zip code was known and published
I'm not against lotteries but I do assume that a lottery is organised to make profit, so on a long term basis and statistically has more losers than winners.

Oh of course it's rigged in favour of the operator. Still, for some folks, it's their only hope of that big financial step, eh?

big financial step .. hmm..
in the meantime the weather is still .. wet. rain. there was something like a storm last evening, but nothing really eventful. I think it's been raining since early december or so.

We had one day of properly frigid weather, and a dusting of snow. But again, we are back to the weather of late March. It's so irregular that a lot of people I work with, and myself, who are getting a few years on us, are hurting a LOT. Various forms of arthritis that just has no opportunity to adpat or settle in.
M'dear, a word of advice ... Stay perpetually the 26-year-old fountain-swimming babe that you are. Aging is not a good idea.

Babette - Dinosaure Posted Jan 12, 2007
ah yes.. apart from the rain and the storm the temperatures here are .. spring.
and .. "26-year-old fountain-swimming babe" , I should have tried that ten years ago

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 12, 2007
Well, it's not too late yet. I'm sure that you can find some pagan-saurian dance, under a , that will inhibit any further aging.
Of course, I want video footage of the entire process.

Babette - Dinosaure Posted Jan 12, 2007
.. mm, I'm afraid not .. there's Saurian dances of course but after a short try out in the backyard with two dogs as spectators ...
there's no video footage of that however

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 12, 2007
Ah, that may have been more of a mating ritual, rather than an anti-aging dance. Which I am sure had the dogs most quizzical.
Once more, you really MUST invest in some technologies.

"a mating ritual, rather than an anti-aging dance" .. ah! so that's what it was I already wondered....
technologies.. mm.. those sort of gadgets

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 13, 2007
*ahem* I wasn't speaking of THOSE gadgets. I meant camera stuff, not the more personal, ... ummm, ... entertainment thingies.

It had been a long week, and an easy mistake to make.
How's the work-challenges looking for this week? Finally, our man-with-the-money is back to work, and my travels for next week are on.
