The aquarium was cute, but not funny.
I don't know that much about witches, I've just picked up the odd witchy fact. I thought that Python thing was probably quite similar to what actually went on. It also shows how much my memory has degraded now that I'm in advanced middle age, I've seen it 3 times and all I could remember that had a duck in it.

P.S. Got my Zippo in the post today.
It's shiny.
Shiny things are good.

"Advanced middle age" - Give over!!!! I *swear* you're really older than I am!
p.s. Not *all* 'shiny things' are good, btw.

Well, I sincerely hope I don't live past 70 (40 would be better), I am 36 which is just over half of 70, hence middle age.

Name ONE shiny thing that is bad then. And I don't mean a shiny Jeffrey Archer book or something like that - doesn't count.

I've just been looking up a place near to me called Wych Cross - I always thought that name had something to do with witches, but it seems 'wych' means weeping. Don't know where the 'cross' bit comes into it - there's bugger all there.

Panðora Posted Oct 14, 2006
Oh, 'wych' is more like 'to bend', hence wych elm and wych (witch) hazel. Suppose there must have been a cross made of that somewhere around there, then. Then again, it probably has absolutely nothing to do with that at all.

I thought witch came from "wicca", which (ha ha) is still used to describe witchcraft.

I assume the "bendy" meaning accounts for all those -wich placenames: Dulwich, Woolwich etc.
I could be wrong.

I'm sure I don't know *what* you mean! ; - )
Are you watching Robin Hood again tonight? I wonder how many people who watched it last week and criticised it will watch it again and post exactly the same comments as last week? One rule for Robin Hood and another for Extras, eh?!

There's bugger all else on, apart from a WWII thing on Chav 4. I'm all Hitlered out from watching too much UKTV History though.
I may play some more "Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault" instead.

"Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault" - Is there no beginning to the exitement in your life?
p.s. I thought you'd be out and about flaunting your Zippo?

Arachnophobe Posted Oct 14, 2006
Going out and flaunting involves going out which I am not prepared to do at my current stage in life.
MOHPA is very exciting, you get to sneak about in the jungle and shoot Japs, I'm fed up with shooting Jerries. Some of these modern WWII games are also quite educational.

I go out as little as possible. It usually involves talking to people you hardly know from Adam, or that you can't stand. I made the mistake of making friends with a couple of women down the road to me a while ago - all they kept on about was their flipping 'villas in Spain' and 'which university their kids were going to' - yawn - oh, and they were constantly inviting me round for 'jewellery and cosmetic parties' - there's only so many times you can make excuses! It's all kicking off on here!: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbpointsofview/F1951566?thread=3574379&skip=0&show=20#p41893421

He should be reported for being off-topic.
Posts removed for being off-topic on his own thread, now that would be funny.
