a fresh pot of tea!
bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran Started conversation Jan 24, 2000
There now.
everyone settled?
take your time.
here's tea, and biscuits. [and a little something for IN the tea]
Listen to the wind whistle outside...isn't it nice to be in here all cozy with friends?
Greebo? if you feel up to it, how about a little accompanyment on this nice piano. It's just an upright so I'll hafta kinda LEAN on it rather than sit right on top. I've been watching a retrospective of MGM musicals on film recently...Anyone have any Jerome Kern favorites????
*hums*
We could make believe I love you,
only make believe that you love meeeeee.
All that fine piece of mind in pretending,
couldn't you, couldn't I, couldn't weeeeeeee?
tum-ta-tum-ta-tum, TA-tum-tum...
Spiny??? Prez??

All of the above.
And blu, dear.. Have you never seen a Western? There's many a dancehall dragonesses what have pirched seductively along the top of a sturdy upright such as this. My, what nice gingerbread around the top. *plinks a few keys* ... and a lovely sound to it, too.
*peers around for some tea*

Ah, yes; westerns.
The dancehall dragoness! Sparklies in her dresses! Off the wing...ah, that is...shoulder, gowns.
[sings]
Around her neck, she wore a yellow ribbon;
She wore it for her lover, who was far, far away!...
*sigh*
Now, lessee; I bet that tea is nice and strong. And here is some shortbread biscuits. Oh, look, some of it is chock'lit covered.
So what tunes do YOU like, 'nonnie?

*wanders in after Nonnie, then just sits down somewhere...*
If you don't mind I'll lay off the sax for a while, I'd like to hear you on the piano as well. Play it again Greebz...
Cigarette, or mind if I smoke, anyone?
a fresh pot of tea!
SPINY (aka Ship's Cook) Posted Jan 25, 2000
Oh, ah, erm....I usually make my mother stand outside for a smoke when she comes to my place, but then you can fall out with your mother, can't you? It's more of a problem falling out with friends
Alright, then Prez - you can have a cigarette as long as you blow the smoke over the piano and blu for that "Western Saloon" look.
Hey blu, what about that great song "I'm Tired" from Blazing Saddles? Then we can all fire our guns into the air at the end. Never did like that Artex-ed ceiling anyway...

bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran Posted Jan 25, 2000
Blazing Saddles!!!! one of the greatest comedies ever made!!!!! Mel Brooks!!!!! Young Frankenstein!!!!! Spaceballs!!!! Halp! I seem to be overrun by exclamation marks!
Madeline Kahn
*sniff*
I miss her.
*Sings in a moving tribute*
"I've been with thousands of men; again and again.
They promise the moon...
They're always coming and going, and going and coming,
And always too soon...

PS thanks for the 'smoky atmosphere' prez...

Ah... Tunes.. I like quite a variety, actually, but I'm a 'fan' of very little. I rarely, if ever, listen to a song because so-and-so did it. I'd much prefer to listen to the music and, if any, lyrics and judge each composition individually, as to whether I either like it or I don't (and whether it happens to grow on me or not ).
Lovely tea, thank you very much. Not too strong.. just right.

She rode a Blazing Doughnut...
She wore a grinny grin...
Her job to eat that doughnut...
Before others near and far...
She conquered milk...
And she conquered choccie...
She ate and ate awayyyyy...
She made the Blazing Doughnut...
A sweet dessert to eat all dayyyy...

Darn it! Lost my head, there I guess. I do get so riled up when them purty gals puts on a show!
Guess I'm mebbe not welcome in this town no more. An' just when me an' Miss Ellie was steppin' out, too.
*gets on horse, shouts "Geddup there, Cherokee", rides down empty main street into sunset. Music swells as silhouette of horse and rider grow small. (big theme with someone whistling in an echo chamber preferred). Credits roll*
*after a pause, horse and rider are seen returning. Spiny dismounts at door to Saloon, ties Cherokee to rail*
Hey, what did y'all think of my performance?

bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran Posted Jan 27, 2000
Cherokee???
er...ah...you dont have a disreputable doggie riding shotgun do you?
'cause if you DO we are experiencing "forum crossover"! The doppleganger effect can be confusing, at the least, and have serious effects on one's perception of reality at the most.
I, myself, am starting to look for a small seal-like object/creature to follow me around the house. I AM fighting this tendency, however...
Oh, and your performance was wonderful! dunno about your AIM, though...
I know what will help rearrange our sense of reality...
Bartender! set 'em up! Drinks for EVERYBODY! and dont shoot the piano player, they're doing the best they can [especially with THIS group].

SPINY (aka Ship's Cook) Posted Jan 27, 2000
Ah! Forum Crossover!
I thought it was just the gun causing the ringing in my ears.
Bartender, don't take that dragon's money, I'll get the drinks for everybody - yep, even them guys playing poker in the corner (how'd they get there?)
a fresh pot of tea!
Anonymouse Posted Jan 27, 2000
*laughs* Horses riding off into the sunset, poker players (are they the doggies? ) in the corners, barmaids on pianos... *peers around* .. And Mel is where? (He generally gives himself a cameo. )
We sure have come a long way from the fancy ballrooms of haven't we? erm.. I mean y'all.
*trails tail daintily along the ivories*
