... to play a role in a role-playing scenario that I am setting up. It's not quite done yet (haven't managed to get all of the character descriptions up yet), but the scenario description is here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A598386
It will point you to a general information and rules page, so be sure to read that too. The character you will be playing, if you want to play, is the Ship's Cook. I have gotten his/your private thread up, so you can read your character description.

In actuality, someone else was going to play this part, but had to drop out. I had another part in mind for you, but I thought this one would be better. Hope you like it.

While everyone is waiting for the thing to start, they have gathered in a thread called: "Pre-start conversation" on the main scenario page. Not too many there yet, but the crowd will grow as I scan/edit in more of the character descriptions.

Let me know (either here or on the private thread) if you do or don't want to participate.

Just looked at the vast, rolling expanse of it all...

Boy, have you been busy! I'm honoured to have been asked to take part. I'll do my best to keep up, but I'm not on line as often as some others. Still, I suppose I might be tucked away in my galley most of the time...

Well, I can't take credit for writing the scenario or character descriptions - I downloaded them (which is encouraged by the author - no copyright problems here, Moderator). However, it takes a while to get them on h2g2, since the original is in Acrobat. I have to scan it (twice for each page, since it is in 2 column format), then clean up the scans before posting. It's taken way longer than I thought. Anyway, it's worth it because it looks like it is going to be alot of fun.

I'm glad you'll be playing. I knew you enjoyed role-playing from the Damogran days and I knew you were continuity-conscious, so you were a natural choice for this. I think you know most of the rest of the players, but there may be a few new faces. They are all good role-players, though, so this should be a fun event.

Well, thanks again for asking.

Yes, I thought you might have remembered me from Damogran days. I miss all that - no-one seems to have quite managed to fire people up in the same way since bluDragon moved to her cabin in the forest. But you look like the natural heir to the throne, so I'm looking forward immensely to this.

BTW if you're short of a male character player, I've always found Dr E Vibenstein is never stuck for a turn of phrase, and would give the whole enterprise the attention to detail it deserves. He's also never offline, it seems to me!

Actually, I may need another male player. I haven't met EV personally, although I have crossed his path a few times. You think he would be good at role-playing like this?

Good, I'm pleased he's said yes. You won't be disappointed! Check out his Alternative Car Park web site (link on his home page) if you get time and if you want to seea fertile imagination...
