Hi vegiman,
I saw your thing in The Post this week. And now I have finished being really really sad (had to have a weep in the ladies here) I'm really really angry. But, do you think you might post a warning so that unsuspecting people like me, who were aware (and painfully so) of what had happened, but didn't know the finer details.
Anyway, I just wanted to say, thanks for posting it, and I am 100% in agreement with you.
Sad world, isn't it?

Hi Sho - Sorry but I had to put it the way it was sent to me. Yes a very sad world.

This posting may not make much sense. I am testing a form program to post to a forum - this is a test to see if it works.

It's like finding an old toy in the corner of the attic isn't it, the way old conversations keep popping up!! You have to go and play a while - just for old times sake

Yes, but it's also like the start of the Sixth Form. Some old friends still there, some new people who are going to be interesting, but other old friends who have gone somewhere else.......
It's going to take some getting used to.

My opinion is that Eddie Van Halen should have been included in the Top 10 Guitarists programme on Channel 4 the other week.
My reasons are thus:
He is the guitarist who pioneered speed tapping in rock music. I am well aware that Robert Johnson was using the technique in the 20's so it's not exactly "New" but the way that Van Halen went about it was very fresh and innovative, when his band burst onto the scene.
Eddie has influenced a great many musicians, including the likes of Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

Oh, I can't get Channel 4... so at the risk of being boring and including the usual suspects here I would go for: Hmmmm. Can't think of anyone right now. Brian May, blah blah; Eric, of course, Joe Satriani, yeppers; Paul Weller anyone?
What about the top 10 bass players (marks to be awarded for technique and coolness). Obviously our very own Bassman is up there, so who are the other 9?

Why not have a vote - Hey Bassman why not set up a page outlining your top 10/20 bets ever and I will supply you with a method others can vote by clicking a button for each guitarist.
Set up a page with the top ones outlined and make a forum for each guitarist. each headed vote for Bla Bla Bla.
Then we will all advertise it.
Go for it
