Being born and raised in Germany and now living in Denmark I have been celebrating both the german and the danish father's day for years I think I'll add the aussie one now that I know of it!
Might as well celebrate it with aussie wine. Had another bottle of Nottage Hill yesterday. Excellent!

how many different father's days are there? it never occurred to me that they would be different until wowbagger mentioned it.

Denmark: 5th of June (which is also our Constitution Day). I've never celebrated it, though. I've always been busy celebrating my grandmothers birthday instead!
According to a book I have, it's the second Sunday in November in Sweden and the third Sunday in June in US?

*taking notes*
now we really need to start a family, so i can surprise hubby with international father's days presents
what is ascension day ?
what about mother's days?

Ottox Posted Sep 9, 2001
Ascension day, the day Christ ascended to Heaven, 40 days after Easter.
Mothers Day in Denmark, second Sunday in May like in US. Still according to that book, it's the last Sunday in May in Sweden and February 9th in Norway.
In Britain they celebrate Mothering Sunday instead of Mothers Day, it's Mid-Lent-Sunday, the fourth Sunday in Lent, some time in March.
