An Englishman Very Slightly Abroad
Who?
Mike Knell is yet another system administrator at Trinity College in Dublin (sharing an office with Colm), though he originally hails from the middle bit of England. This means he can feel all intrepid and expatriate without the inconvenience of going anywhere that's really foreign, and doesn't have to do without BBCtelly. He spends most of his time on (surprise) system administration of one form or another - preferably on Unix machines and other Real Computers, but occasionally toy stuff like Windows NT needs to be sorted out. That's usually a good time to go for lunch.
Other Things
I do a couple of other things besides working - I'm webmaster for the UK and Ireland SAGE - recently formed so the pages are rather, um, bare-boned. I'm also partially responsible (after a fashion) for doing stuff with The L-Space Web and its associated services, and a reasonably regular participant in Usenet, although having recently got myself onto The WELL I've found I'm spending more time there.
It's not all computers. It just looks like that. Honest. No, really.. |
More gruesome details can be found at this location if you're really desperate, although to be honest I'm more likely to add random journal entries around here than do substantial updating of those pages for the time being. You can always send mail if you're desperate.
