Bulletin

With the rodent collective languishing in the doldrums at the moment, I have decided that it is time to bring in some new blood to join Eddie the jird and the ageing mouse, Sodit.

Sadly Chandon passed on and Doobry disappeared in an incident that has been likened to the Bermuda Triangle or the act of Harry Houdini. One moment she was in her cage, the next gone with no visible means of escape. smiley - ghost

Any way, tonight I am on my way to pick up two new jirds who are only babies. Ahhhhh! smiley - smiley

Cheeky mare!

To the bloke on the 8.29 to Cannon Street this morning who called me a 'Fat Cow', I would just like to repeat here what I told you and the rest of the carriage this morning.

Honey, if it prevents me being attractive to people like you then bring on the lard - I will have it intravenously!!

(And having sneaked a look at your lap, I can see you have a problem with size.)

Older, stronger, wiser?

Tomorrow is my 29th birthday. One more year until I hit the big 30!

I was always obssessed with the thought of being 28, I assumed that everything would be wonderful, it would be the year that everything came right. So was I right? Was it a 365 day nirvana?

In some ways. I now have a wonderful boyfriend I love with all my heart. Having been single for so long, it was a (nice) shock to find that I could connect so deeply with someone else. It was a bit shocking to find that the person who would turn my world upside down had been under my nose for the last five years or so. To the friends who helped bring us together, I owe a huge debt I hope to repay one day. Ian, I love you completely and utterly. I never understood what John Lennon meant when he said 'Love is the answer and you know that for sure' until that day in Cambridge.

In other ways it has been an incredibly tough year, culminating in losing my beloved best friend Henry the smiley - dog. It is only now that I have come to see that all that I have experienced - be it good or bad - is helping to shape me as a person. I feel good about the coming year - I know it will bring bad as well as good but I know it will make me a stronger, wise person.

I would also like to say thank you to the h2g2 Community - an amazing group of people who I am in awe of. You continue to amuse, enlighten and inspire me. I consider myself lucky to have contributed to this amazing project as a Researcher and an Editor.

Love and peace to you and those you hold dear,

Abi

Saturday

What a party! I had a whale of a time and I hope you did too. It was h2g2's biggest and best meet-up to date! smiley - smiley

I would like to thank everyone who came for making it such a success, anyone who contributed to the organisation, the Sutton Arms for being such a superb venue, IanG for putting up with the panicking, Uncle Heavy for disregarding all the guidelines, Pope Leo X for the advice and everyone else who knows me.

Rodent Collective Bulletin

It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that Chandon has followed Moët to the great cheese in the sky. smiley - cry

She had been increasingly inactive over the last couple of days and had been losing weight dramatically. When I came home last night, she was very cold and though I tried to warm her up it was to no avail.

All very sad. Still there is still Sodit, Doobry, Nelson, Wellington and Nice Guy Eddie to keep me occupied.
