What part of early February in the temperate zone is producing this confusion? No matter how much carbon gets into the atmosphere, the amount of light in the arctic circle is going to be zero for six months a year. This is going to make things very cold no matter what anyone does. Global Warming doesn't change it. It might not be *as* cold, but it'll still be pretty cold.

Yesterday was the first time in three months that the sun set *after* five o'clock p.m. The days get longer a couple of minutes at a time, inching toward twelve hours of sunlight per day in late March.

Time to thaw out is coming soon then, I would hope.

Over here it could still be a rather wet rain season. Goodness knows we could use all of the help we can get here, though.
