The steps that we climb
Get steeper with time
Till someone opens your door

These are just material things
Maybe it's a desire to hear your heart beat
That gives one a desire so complete
That one just wishes there'll ne'er be an end
Of my admiration for you my friend.

Tears, you are not welcome now

Time manipulates the grandfather clock
Tick tock,tick tock
Seconds to minutes,minutes to hours
Devouring lives,ours.

When someone you like has gone away
It just seems to rain, every day
There is no rhythm to the things you do
So you just plod on feeling blue
It does'nt matter there's no sunshine
There is no other solitude, only mine
Yet some are missed when they've gone
For some of us there's only one
Ear, we sometimes need to bend
Where are you Polly, my dearest friend?

As gloom and despair bring end to this day
My life is in tatters, total disarray
Promises and dreams lie hopeless and spent
All collecting dust like yesterdays rent
The landlord still menaces his door
My life packed in boxes neat on his floor
This forced transit as tears help me pack
Will ne'er help me lift debt from my back
Yet the grimace on my visage my false smile
Will hopefully deter the wolves,a while
Ahh if only I could just grow a new skin
I could then slither and really fit in.

Moonlight steals the dark from the night
Lending its own mellow melting light
Moths display with wings that stir ne'er a breeze
How to hover and play with motions that tease
Yet still they batter agin thy window pane
Again,again,endlessly, again.

Time steals all our enemies and friends
Though it moves so slowly,it never ends
Every heartbeat,or parting kiss
Solemnly, reminds one, of this
Life, is a mere union of X and Y
It's so natural,that's why it flys by.

Life is a window with an ever changing view
A vista that's not exclusive to me or you
Everything from elephant to a fruit fly
Is born from like and like, like, it will die
So as life is a desire to breath,drink and eat
For a space on this planet we must compete
Just as a flower we must bloom and make seed
To make more meat on which Vultures can feed.

Romance sneaks up like darkness in the sky
Yet we're all too stunned to even ask why
Something as simple as the touch of strange lips
Can invigorate a mind while our defences it strips
Exposing our flesh to heat and a touch
That our memory wantonly needs so much
A thrill that turns loneliness to lust
Making one turn into two a must.

Love is a dream that can last on the mind
First thing in the morning we will find
A space to breathe and be as a stone
Then realise love is never alone
Any dream that you can do
Is twice as good when shared by two.

'Night 'Night my dearest Rick. Take care tomorrow. When you get the time put your feet up and relax. I have some cherries and grapes in the fridge to munch on with a book tomorrow! I will be reading the book and not eating it!
