Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Feb 26, 2009
Violence is the weapon
That will defeat us all
It closes all doors
When peace comes to call
The evil that I see
In my son's eye
Was implanted by me
Before I learnt to cry.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Mar 28, 2009
Peace is a word
That is all it is
All,it will ever be
A word reserved
A caption for one's grave
Air rattles lungs
Stirring the protest
That is the difference
As individual as me,you
While havoc rules
We are alive
Still?
Hello again.

Honey drips from the maiden's tongue
Leaving one wishing they were still young
To see the eyes that light a room
Raising ardour dispelling gloom
Wishing they could only see
The only one in the room is me
What I need is a mental shock
A reversal of my body's clock
To reintroduce my yearning for fun
To loosen joints and let me run
Too fool, frolic like bird and bee
Again wild, indifferent,carefree.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Apr 5, 2009
My love I know
For it is true
I've let you down
A time or two
If I could show
With just a word
I am sorry
My eyes are blurred
My tears are wet
My heart it aches
Yet love,loves love
Not mistakes.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Apr 22, 2009
It would be different altogether
If only we could choose the weather
Certainly a lot less strain
Were we to get just night rain
But would our jobs ever get done
If we all chose too much sun
With wrinkled skin and burnt faces
Like those from hot dusty places
Tongues would simple never wag
Were we to loose are daily nag
'cus with our season's we never know
If it'll be sun, rain, wind or snow.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted May 1, 2009
The evening storm clouds begin to grow
At least it'll be rain tonight not snow
Thunder growls with threatening rain
Lightening streaks show the way again
Thrashing raindrops beat rythmic'ly on pane
That swishes and swirls seeking drain....
Hello again.

**** Pedantic Grammarian Alert ****
Hi, Rikii
Can't resist pointing out that that "that" at the beginning of the last line makes "pane" the subject of the final clause, which is not, I think, your intention - it's the raindrops that are "Swishing and swirling, seeking drain".
I feel so much better for that.
Hello again.

I don't need a glass slipper
To show me you're a princess
For e'en if you were a stripper
I could never love you less
Everything about you
From your deportment to your style
Means I want to stick like glue
In the shadow of your smile
For were the cards to deal me
True diamonds by the score
I know I'll always have my queen
I will never want for more.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted May 11, 2009
The flower gently rises
Growing with the rain
Then the bloom appears
To follow the sun again
My how the bees roll
Seeking the nectar here
Drunk they are falling
From a fruity,free beer
We know bees are dwindling
From the chemicals we use
Soon there'll be no bee
Or flower 'less we refuse
To spray and annihilate
Destroy bird and bee
We will all learn too late
Tis the end for you 'n' me.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted May 12, 2009
Moonlight you lend your glow to me
Or anyone else that can see
You alone all by yourself
Beaming down on owl and elf....
Hello again.

Another One Bites The Dust
Had a phone call from an old friend
with the news last night
that one of our companions
has disappeared from sight;
driven off the fairway
and vanished in the rough -
he'll never salvage par again
with that magic touch.
Seems ages we've been saying that
we must meet up sometime
for a pint of beer or two
or maybe some red wine,
to talk about the old days
and our retirement plans -
but what's the point of saving when
it all goes down the pan?
If life is an illusion
why is it so unkind?
This isn't the reunion
that we had in mind.
The funeral is next Thursday -
I hope my suit still fits -
there'll be no massive send-off, though,
he never did like glitz.
So say a prayer for Steven
and wish his woman well;
he's on his way to heaven while
we wonder, Is this Hell?
Yes, raise a glass to Steven -
I used to know him well -
and try to keep believin' while
we wander in this Hell.
Say Goodbye to Steven -
they say the good die young,
and seein' is believin', but
believin' ain't much fun.
Hello again.

Thanks, Rikii. I think.
Bit sad, though. Back in the 80s and 90s, when I could afford such things, I used to go on golfing weekends with a few friends. Not that I can play very well, but it was good craic. I think there were six of us on the first one, which started the morning after the Great Storm of '87. Only four of us left now. And I'm the oldest.
Hello again.

An old song's playin' on the radio
It sure takes me back a while
Not only can I see your lips
I can nearly taste your smile
A lonely walk down mem'ry lane
Without that sweet arm at my side
Time can never e'er ease the pain
When my heart was torn open wide
Still your memory will linger
And I hope the last sight I'll see
You puttin' that ring on my finger
Together for eternity
Hello again.

This lottery ticket
Life has dealt me
Holds no winning line
That I can see
Every door I open
There's another door
If above us is success
For me it's the floor
I've learnt
What life's about
It's not breathing in
It's all letting out
The freedom to scream
When others say "quiet"
Is the ultimate dream
Before the riot.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Jun 3, 2009
Tonight the sky's clear
So I watch the sky
I have just seen
The day say goodbye
Moonlight,subtley creeps in
Casting shadows illuminatin'
Giving us a new perspective
Shimmeringly quaint reflective
Are you outside looking in?
Well welcome to this human dustbin.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Jun 5, 2009
Love lies bleeding
On this human battlefield
For there is no conceeding
As right will never yield
The human seed is planted
Wild,amongst the weeds
For every mind that's ranted
Knows that all life bleeds
To soon our journey ends
Will we ever know the way
To follow a road that bends
For the butterfly's just a day
Yet we can all build bridges
That fail to cross the road
That end in forehead ridges
Yet fail to ease the load
Can we no be like the bee
Moving from flower to flower
Life could be so easy
Savouring each hour
Yet love needs a leech
To draw liquid from its womb
So that all and each
Live from cradle to tomb
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Jun 11, 2009
A gentle breeze is blowing
As the sunlight is getting low
Now there's hardly any showing
On the horizon there's a glow
There's a Magpie in the gutter
Pecking,tearing away the moss
Its wings they are a flutter
Moss discarded with a toss
Leaves shimmer smoothly
I can barely hear the sound
As the wind chimes soothe me
There's a Robin on the ground
I feel my heart beating
My chest bursting with each bump
As this day is now retreating
I rise from an old tree stump
The moths are up and so am I
Heading for comfort of my nest
I shall think until I die
Quiet Spring night's are best.
Hello again.
Rikiiboy Posted Jun 11, 2009
Pain is the master
I'am but its slave
Making me travel faster
From existence to grave
Pain why hurt so
My each and every pace
You're the life I know
A familiar place
I can take comfort
As I try to Survive
Every part you distort
Knows I'm alive.
