I haven't tried it - what does it contain?

I have something to confess about last week. I have been learning Italian but Doug can't speak a word of it. One day when we were in Pisa he asked me to get him a peach ice cream. So off I trot and ask for a *Pesce* (pronounced Peshay) icecream. The vendor looked at me and grinned and then said *Pesci* (Pronounced Pesky). I had ordered fish ice cream - Doug didn't trust me to order for him after that!

Now I remember! It was called The Truman Show.

It's supposed to look like fish food. It's basically ice cream with fudge and marshmallows and stuff like that in it. Quite sickly, and very awkward with all those lumpy bits to use... you know

I must get some, so at least I can authoritatetively (sic.) say that it's as yucky as it sounds.

I know I always gave my ice-cream a snif to check before I gave it a big lick!

I thought you did amazingly well with the italian, especially when you think you'd only been learning it for a few weeks! I don't know where I'd have been without you! I would have probably ended up with a leather jacket and lost in the middle of Florence!

Sounds... interesting... although I'm not sure it would be my cup of tea either! We've been a bit spoilt with ice-cream over the last week especially when Ginger got her lips round a big tub of chocolate ice-cream! I thought I had some serious competition for a while! I rather liked the Pistachio(sp?) and the Coconut!

It's making my mouth water just thinking about it - or rather if someone in the office wasn't eating the worst smelling sandwich ever!

I thought it was funny when I looked up the italian for Vodka and Coke and found out it was Vodka and Coke - not that there was much coke in it!

So where is that Yoz when you need him

The first time I thought that must have been a one-off, but then everywhere we went put so much vodka in the glass that actually getting any coke in there was almost impossible! Not that I heard you complaining! just your eyes going all boggly and wide!

It was the "Let's go to the bar for just one drink and then I'll be ready to go to sleep" - 3 drinks later (the equivalent of 9 uk vodkas) I was almost comatose! I seem to remember someone being very pissed on chianti one night!

So Fenny, how about sticking a veil on my fishy - Doug's already has the top hat and tails and I am feeling decidely underdressed!

it looks quite like what's happened to me when I asked for a bottle of gassed water (intending mineral water), and the waiter patiently explained me that the car-service was OUTSIDE the bar.
Or when in a resturant in Bristol (boys, the light was dim and I was a bit drunk) I've read on the menu "wild bear" instead of "wild boar".

my better half up there has already posted a CONGRATULATIONS!!! from both of us to the two of you but i thought i would come in and say CONGRATULATIONS!!! myself as well ....this is soooo sweet!!, i wish the two of you the happiest of years together

Only if we hold it in Sweden, Poland or Russia which are the only countries I know of that could supply enough vodka for the both of us!

I'm starting to feel very overwhelmed by all of this - it was unexpected!

What was unexpected?

The response to the news has been unexpected! I just didn't expect so much of a response! I'm not complaining though!

I suppose the volume may be a surprised, but I'm surprised that the response was a surprise...

Well as a bit of a natural born cynic myself I expect others to be the same and I knew some people would enthuse but thought most would be indifferent, if not, violently sick! I'm always happy to make others happy though and glad that we are all romantics at heart!

I am still trying to contact all of my RL friends to let them know - it could take months to catch everyone!

Has there been a wedding broadcast on the net yet? live and in real time that is. Maybe H2G2v can make net history? I'll donate 50p if required!! (only if I can go to a bank and pay it in - this sounds like fun!
